  42. There are four ways to talk about decisions and plans for the future:
  43. - will + base form: decisions made while speaking (also offers and promises)
  44. - [be] going to + base form: decisions made before speaking
  45. - present continuous = [be] + verb(ing): decisions and arrangements/preparation made before speaking
  46. (- simple present: scheduled future events)

  48. These are plans. We also use future grammar to talk about predictions, which are things we can’t directly control. Only “will” and “going to” can be used for predictions.

  93. It will rain soon. = I see the weather forecast on my phone.
  94. It may/might rain soon. = This is a possibility but I’m not sure.
