	Tarith Of Shisserand
	Tarith was born a Shisserand sothari, but she never truly fit in. The Shisserand are a warrior tribe, almost entirely sothari. To control their primal instincts, many Shisserands practice The Forms — martial disciplines that center on three principles: Focus, Patience, Control.
	A sothari is a centauroid saurian, with keeled diamond scales. Their color ranges from greens to blues, with blues strong among Shisserand. Their head features a long pointed muzzle, and two "horns" at the back that are muscular and expressive. Their eyes are large for night vision, slitted for day vision, and protected by substantial ridges. Their outer ears are membranes supported by jointed spines, resembling tiny pterosaur wings, which they can angle around to hear directionally, or draw back against their heads to protect against loud sounds. Their chest is dominated by pale scutes, with gills hidden under the top three rows of scutes. Their toes and fingers all have talons.

My image for reptilian is roughly dragonspawn from World Of Warcraft.
My imagination was fired by the sentence "In another [Age], crystals grow on trees, and diamonds can be dug up from the dirt by the handful.".
Say somebody wanted gobs of diamonds, and was willing to write a Book to get it. What's that Age like? What's it like from the perspective of those who've known no other?
So I imagined biological processes. Carbon sequestration writ large. Earthworms that poop diamonds.
What's the rest of the tree of life like?
And I imagined keeled scales grown of diamond. WOW dragonspawn with diamond scales, because that's the state of the art for tough biology in that world. Fierce, maybe too fierce for their own good, making spearheads from their own moulted scales, to pierce diamond-cladded hides.
My character is, by human standards, a badass. But she's the runt of the clutch, a warrior-poet too weak to hoard glory. She fights, but plans her fights. Have a plan to kill everyone you meet, even if most people you meet are twice your size.
There's a certain Billy Goat Gruff aspect to the concept, where all her prowess is shrugged off with "you should see any of my brothers".
