TSW 22: Robin's Party (Backdated)

[18:15]	Arina	Arina had run off after school without explanation, but as you return to the pilot housing, you're greeted by a smiling Russian, a few light touches of decoration around the apartment common room, and a table set up with snacks and drinks.
[18:15]	Arina	"Welcome back, Robin."
[18:16]	RobinE	"Huh?" her face is a mix of confused and surprised.
[18:17]	Arina	"Welcome back. To... er... consciousness, I suppose?"
[18:18]	RobinE	"yeah, thanks," she looks around, "is this why you left school?"
[18:18]	IcePickLobotomy	RobinE: There's also a large three-layer cake topped with strawberries and a few boxes of pizza.
[18:18]	Arina	nods. "I wanted to set up something a little special."
[18:19]	RobinE	"Why? I mean, its not the first time I've been gone."
[18:20]	IcePickLobotomy	"But that is the longest you have been gone, at least as far as we've worked with you." Walker chimes in as she emerges from the kitchen in a pair of shorts and a tank-top.
[18:20]	Arina	"It isn't, but this was a bit of a long absence. And we're glad to have you back."
[18:21]	RobinE	"True, but I'm sure you had fun. She always has fun."
[18:22]	Arina	"Lana is Lana, Robin is Robin."
[18:22]	Arina	"I don't mind her, but we still missed 0x1dyou0x1d."
[18:24]	RobinE	"really?" her face softens a bit, "thanks."
[18:25]	Arina	smiles. "Come on, snag some of your cake. Artyom was cackling while baking it."
[18:25]	RobinE	narrows her eyes, "cackling?"
[18:26]	Arina	"So you 0x1dknow0x1d he's proud of it."
[18:26]	IcePickLobotomy	"I make the best damn cake in my division! Why would I not be proud of it!" Artyom emerges from the kitchen weaing a pair of combat fatigues, boots, and nothing on his chest save for a apron and a chef's hat.
[18:26]	IcePickLobotomy	The apron is a frilly pink thing that says "Kiss the Cook."
[18:27]	Arina	giggles. "Exactly!"
[18:27]	RobinE	she still seems a bit stunned, "Wow, thanks Artyom."
[18:29]	RobinE	goes to get something to drink.
[18:29]	IcePickLobotomy	"You are welcome, do you want me to cut you a slice?"
[18:29]	RobinE	"sure, yeah."
[18:30]	IcePickLobotomy	He starts by cutting a generous slice. "Arina, Walker? John?"
[18:30]	JohnH	"Well I can't say no to cake."
[18:30]	Arina	chuckles. "Sure, thank you Artyom."
[18:31]	IcePickLobotomy	Considering the smile on the large Russian's face as he brandishes a large knife you feel that accepting the cake is a wise move. You soon find yourselves armed with a paper plate and a large slice of cake.
[18:31]	RobinE	takes her lighter out of her pocket and begins flipping it open and closed as she gets her food and drink.
[18:32]	Arina	smiles, settling down and watching Robin get it started.
[18:33]	RobinE	finds a comfy seat and begins eating.
[18:34]	Arina	"Good, right?" She starts cutting her own.
[18:35]	RobinE	"yeah, it is."
[18:35]	Arina	"Excellent. Have you been settling back in all right?"
[18:36]	RobinE	"yup."

[18:42]	Arina	"Fairly well for me."
[18:43]	Mary	enters the apartment, trailing slightly behind as she had a talk with hikari , and so her first words are "hello...cake?"
[18:43]	IcePickLobotomy	"Mary!" Artyom hands a plate with a large slice of cake to you
[18:43]	IcePickLobotomy	"I made cake."
[18:45]	Arina	waves slightly. "Just a little party to welcome Robin back."
[18:46]	RobinE	looks around the room, after a few seconds she goes back to eating.
[18:48]	Arina	"Looking for the others? They'll trail in eventually."
[18:48]	RobinE	"oh ok."
[18:49]	IcePickLobotomy	"Kasra got called in for a meeting with Vernbeck, I think Reagan had something going on to do with her uncle."
[18:49]	Mary	"It looks like good cake?"
[18:49]	Mary	noods and gets closer "Seems very much like good cake"
[18:49]	Arina	"It is, grab some and join us!"
[18:50]	Mary	smiles at the others, gets herself a plate and sits down, aranging the uniforms skirt as she sits with legs pulled up on the couch
[18:51]	RobinE	's hand that is holding the lighter is shaking slightly as she flips it open and closed.
[18:53]	Arina	frowns. "... Robin, are you all right? I didn't know your exact preferences, if this is too much for you, just say the word."
[18:53]	Arina	"This is a party for you, we don't want to make you uncomfortable."
[18:56]	RobinE	"no, no I'm fine," she gives Arina a smile, "I haven't had a party like this in... a long time."
[18:57]	Arina	smiles back. "We should do this more often, then."
[18:58]	RobinE	"yeah. sure."
[19:02]	RobinE	jumps a bit as if shaken from a thought, she looks to her hand and notices the lighter. She closes it in her fist, "I'm sorry, I must have been driving you nuts with my lighter." she puts it back into her pocket.
[19:02]	Mary	"Yes.. we are well we are sometimes stupid at showing things and so .. cake.."
[19:03]	Mary	reahes out as if to hold her hand and then stops
[19:03]	Mary	looks at Robine
[19:04]	Arina	"Oh, no, I don't mind the lighter, you just looked a little bothered by something."
[19:06]	RobinE	"Just, it was just a memory."
[19:07]	Arina	"... It's been a very, very long time since the last time you were at a party, hasn't it?"
[19:07]	Arina	lays a hand on hers.
[19:09]	RobinE	"yeah," she looks to the floor, "Last one I had was... well... when I had a family to do it with."
[19:10]	Arina	nods. "If you'd like, we can have more."
[19:12]	RobinE	"No, we don't need to," she wipes one of her eyes with her wrist, "thanks though."
[19:12]	IcePickLobotomy	"Wait you mean they. . " Walker shakes her head in disgust 'Off course they didn't." She pats Robin on the back "You're welcome Robin."

[19:13]	RobinE	"I never made a big deal of it Walker. They had to deal with me enough."
[19:13]	Arina	"Well, not more right 0x1dnow0x1d, but over time. If you're comfortable with it, we're entirely willing to."
[19:13]	IcePickLobotomy	"We don't want to "deal" with you Robin, we want to be around you."
[19:16]	Mary	"Girl, we are , well if you want us we are making you into our family... even if you might not want to, no escape from that "
[19:17]	Arina	purses her lips, glancing at Mary.
[19:18]	RobinE	just looks at the ground, silent.
[19:24]	Reagan	throws the door open, obviously a little out of breath, already hopping out of her shoes.
[19:24]	Reagan	"Am I late, haha..." She trails off when she sees no one's talking.
[19:25]	Arina	looks up. "A little. We were throwing a party to welcome Robin back."

[19:26]	Reagan	"Oh! Of course!" She claps her hands. "Welcome back, darlin!"
[19:27]	Arina	lays her hand back on Robin's. "... we won't replace them. We can do 'friends'."
[19:31]	Mary	"Yes sorry for the words I.."
[19:31]	Reagan	"Okay, so, cake for supper, is that what I'm hearin?"
[19:31]	Mary	nods at arina and leaves her the field there.
[19:32]	Arina	"More of an afternoon snack, we still have actual supper."
[19:33]	Kasra	The door creeps open and a sheepish Kasra attempts to enter surreptitiously.
[19:33]	Reagan	gets hit by the door.
[19:34]	Kasra	"Oh"
[19:34]	Reagan	"Well hey now."
[19:34]	Kasra	"S-sorry."
[19:34]	Arina	"Hey, welcome, Kasra. Party for Robin's return, obtain cake," she commands, pointing to the table.
[19:35]	Kasra	"Robin? Robin! Hi!"
[19:35]	RobinE	"Yeah, its a party. Let's have fun, " she gets up to get more drink.
[19:36]	Reagan	stumbles back from the door and discards her shoes. "Alrighty then."
[19:37]	Reagan	follows Robin into the kitchen. "We don't have some milk lying around do we?"
[19:39]	RobinE	"Artyom would know better."
[19:40]	IcePickLobotomy	"In the fridge."
[19:41]	Reagan	"Perfect. Anybody else want a glass?"
[19:42]	RobinE	"no, thanks though."
[19:42]	Kasra	"...oh, yes please!"
[19:43]	Reagan	"One milk!"
[19:43]	Arina	"Ah, yes, thank you!"
[19:43]	Reagan	"Two milks!"
[19:51]	RobinE	sits back down in her spot before mumbling something.
[19:53]	Mary	"THREE" She calls over
[19:54]	Reagan	"Three milks! Going once, going twice..."
[19:55]	Arina	"You want one too, Robin?"
[19:56]	Reagan	"Naw honey she just said she was fine."
[19:56]	Arina	"Ah, sorry."
[19:56]	Kasra	"So...John. How's it going?"
[19:57]	RobinE	"I'm good, I got myself a drink."
[19:57]	Arina	nods. "Good, good."
[19:59]	JohnH	"It's going. This cake has made me feel fat, I might have to put an extra mile or two in tomorrow."
[19:59]	Mary	"There is nothing wrong with relaxing and enjoing being filled with sweets."
[19:59]	Kasra	"S-sounds like fun though!"
[19:59]	Kasra	"An extra mile sounds good."
[20:00]	Reagan	comes back to the table waitress-holding four glasses of milk. "Alright folks."
[20:00]	Arina	smiles, standing up to take her share of the burden. "Thank you, Reagan."
[20:00]	Reagan	"Don't mention it."
[20:01]	Mary	"That is one extra mile to much..., We do not always have to be sorry for the things that we do , and just accept it and be okay with us"
[20:01]	Kasra	"Yeah, but balance what you eat and do and all."
[20:03]	Mary	rolls her eyes "that what makes you feel good and that is good so"
[20:03]	JohnH	"I take pride in my body. Being physically capable is one of the most important things."
[20:03]	Arina	"You know that we enjoy exercise, right?"
[20:04]	RobinE	"Mary is right though."
[20:05]	Reagan	"Ha, especially when it comes to more exercise."
[20:05]	Kasra	"Yeah, but...well, John and I will just go running too."
[20:06]	Mary	"Some people just like to be hurt it seems."
[20:06]	Arina	nods. "It'll be as fun to work it off as it was to put in."
[20:06]	Mary	"And, there rgh its exercise, we do hae to fight with the devil at school already"
[20:08]	Kasra	"It's our job to like being hurt."
[20:08]	Kasra	attempts to laugh before realizing no actual human would think that was funny and clears his throat.
[20:09]	Arina	"... I think there are actually people who get paid for that."
[20:09]	Reagan	pats the table in front of Kasra consolingly."
[20:10]	JohnH	"And here we are, just doing it for free."
[20:11]	Kasra	"Well...for house and board."
[20:12]	Mary	"Well, at least we do not have to wear leather for that.."
[20:12]	Mary	speaks, blinks and blushes
[20:12]	Kasra	"...what?"
[20:12]	Mary	"The last 5 seconds never happend"
[20:13]	IcePickLobotomy	Walker coughs into her fist, cheeks coloring slightly
[20:13]	Kasra	"Okay? Okay."
[20:13]	Arina	blushes. "... Okay I honestly don't know much about those communities but I'll consider myself informed and proceed to forget the last five seconds."
[20:13]	Reagan	looks around the table in genuine confusion.
[20:14]	Reagan	"...Whats everybody bein' all bashful about?"
[20:14]	Kasra	shrugs through the ceiling.
[20:14]	Mary	"NY Had.. cheap rents and yeah...."
[20:15]	Arina	coughs into a hand. "Education."
[20:15]	IcePickLobotomy	". . . ." Walker smirks "I had no idea the USSR was that. . . uhh. . . /liberal/ ."
[20:15]	Reagan	raises her eyebrows.
[20:17]	RobinE	gets up from her seat, "excuse me for a minute," she goes to her room.
[20:17]	Arina	's cheeks grow redder. "I just heard vaguely about it..."
[20:18]	Kasra	"I'm sure. Shall we change the subject? I thought the last five seconds hadn't happened."
[20:19]	Arina	"They definitely did not, so I'm quite at a loss what we're talking about!"
[20:19]	Reagan	looks vaguely irritated but shrugs.
[20:19]	IcePickLobotomy	"I don't recall ever agreeing to that~" Walker sing songs
[20:19]	Reagan	"Are there s'posed to be party games at this party?"
[20:19]	Mary	"Okay...Walker then you explain as I .. Uh..."
[20:19]	Mary	tries to hide in the couch and faaaails
[20:20]	Reagan	"Oh my."
[20:20]	Arina	"No explanation necessary we're quite fine!"
[20:20]	IcePickLobotomy	"Apparently it isn't." Walker is still smirking at Arina
[20:23]	Kasra	"Well, Reagan. How was your day?"
[20:23]	Kasra	is valiantly attempting to derail the mad officer.
[20:23]	Reagan	now looking confused. "Well, it wasn't all that bad, aside from my bein' late and all."
[20:24]	Reagan	"More importantly, what's happenin with the party girl, now?"
[20:25]	RobinE	comes back into the room with her notebook, "here I am," a page falls out as she comes into the main room.
[20:25]	Arina	ducks down to pick it up. "Ah, here, this fell."
[20:25]	Arina	wasn't seeking a distraction at all.
[20:27]	RobinE	takes the page, "huh? I didn't..." she reads it. After a moment she crumples it and throws it back into her room, "that doesn't matter."
[20:27]	RobinE	continues to her seat.
[20:28]	Arina	"Fair enough."
[20:28]	Reagan	"What's the notebook for?"
[20:29]	Arina	"She was working on writing, wasn't she?"
[20:30]	RobinE	"Oh, yeah I write a bit."
[20:30]	Arina	smiles. "What sort of writing do you do?"
[20:31]	Kasra	"Oh! Oh, she...well, you tell them, Robin, sorry."
[20:32]	RobinE	"I just write stories and stuff."
[20:32]	Kasra	casts an apologetic glance towards Robin.
[20:32]	Arina	"Anything you want to talk about, or still in production?"
[20:35]	RobinE	"oh, well I," she nervously wrings her wrists, "they are more for fun, nothing serious."
[20:37]	Arina	chuckles. "If it's not fun, it's not going to be worth anything seriously."
[20:37]	Arina	"But no, I understand, early creative efforts are hard to feel confident in. I am interested whenever you feel ready, though."
[20:40]	RobinE	"Ok."
[20:41]	Kasra	appears to be excited.
[20:47]	Mary	leans back and just watches for now
[20:52]	RobinE	starts with the title, "The knight who saved the gorgon:"
[20:53]	RobinE	The story tells of a knight who was sent out many a time to fight many a strange beast. One after another he fought and won. But his next mission was to kill a gorgon, and a dangerous one at that. When he went to fight the beast fled. Time and time again her approached only to have it leave. he finally was able to cath it off guard one day, cornering it. That is when he had realized it had...
[20:53]	RobinE	...gone blind. It could not harm anyone anymore and he did not need to kill such a harmless thing. He instead, cut off one snake head off the gorgons many hairs, and fled. He convinced the king the deed was done, saving the gorgon, and keeping people safe.
[20:54]	Arina	smiles. "That was very nice."
[20:55]	Mary	listens and looks sad and yet hapy
[20:55]	Kasra	"I love it!"
[20:56]	JohnH	stays silent
[20:56]	Reagan	"You know what, that had a lovely twist at the end."
[20:56]	RobinE	"Thanks."
[20:57]	RobinE	is slightly shaking cause of nerves.
[20:57]	Reagan	kicks John under the table.

[21:49]	RobinE	continues to write, with a small smile on her face.
[21:51]	Kasra	"Someday maybe you should tell them about that creation story you had?"
[21:53]	RobinE	"Maybe," she doesn't look up from the notebook as she answers, "I don't really want to be the story teller."
[21:53]	Mary	"Well just because yo wrote the script does not mean that you have to be the one that acts it out "
[21:54]	Arina	nods. "You can if you'd like to, but there are other people who can do that."
[21:56]	RobinE	"Maybe, sometime else though."
[21:57]	Kasra	"Yeah, no need to recite it all now."
