  1. The most populous race of Hollo, the reveniens are also the most varied. Their skin tones range from deep browns to rich olives to peachy pinks to pale whites. Their hair grows in a number of colours and, particularly in the males, in varying degrees over their body. They can be short, tall, skinny, broad, and come in just about any flavour that can be imagined. Just about the only constant among reveniens is that they will be themselves, just as hard as they can be.
  2.
  3. The most exceptional thing about reveniens is their ability to return from death. They are born, essentially, with two lives. If they die, they will almost immediately be returned to life.
  4.
  5. Physical Description: Standing anywhere from 4 to 7 feet, in a variety of builds and skin tones, reveniens are varied in appearance. Prior to their death and return, the irises of their eye exhibit a glowing golden quality, and often have some kind of golden markings on their body. After returning from death, their irises are universally black, and the extremities of their limbs and the edges of their facial features take on an ashy grey colouration, which become more pronounced with age.
  6.
  7. Society: Revenien societies are as varied as the individuals in them, but of all Hollo's races reveniens are most prone to gathering in city-states and kingdoms. Additionally, it is usually perceived that post-death “Grey” reveniens are wiser and more fit for positions of leadership, management, or just respect. This is owing partially to the practise of reveniens who reached middle age without dying, particularly those who wished to settle down and assume political office, committing a ritual suicide. This is no longer common, but still happens, especially given that dying of old age while “Golden” is seen as unpleasant, as they will return to life only to immediately die again.
  8.
  9. Relations: Being so varied and disparate, unable even to unite as a race, reveniens in general are rarely seen in any particular way. Instead, they are judged by individuals or by organisations. For this reason it is common for other races to live among reveniens simply because it is easy to feel comfortable among reveniens: after all, you might be more like one revenien than some of their own people.
  10.
  11. Alignment and Religion: Reveniens are as varied in alignment as they are in appearance and character, having no predisposition to any alignment. They tend to be more religious than other races, and notably were the first race to worship the Celestial Brothers, as well as being responsible for spreading their church.
  12.
  13. Adventurers: In their desire to forge their identity and impress it upon others, many reveniens take to lives of adventuring, especially emboldened by the notion that they can happily die and come right back. Their versatility also means they can fill any role in a party.

  25. Second Chance: When a revenien dies, they are returned to life at the start of their next turn with half of their hp, rounded up. They lose all illnesses and afflictions, and any dismemberments or disfigurements that occurred in the last 48 hours are healed. After they are returned to life, they immediately lose this racial trait.
  26.
  27. Alternate Racial Traits:
  28.
  29. Been There, Done That: Reveniens with this racial trait have already died and returned to life, and as such are a little more experienced than a Golden revenien. They select one extra feat at 1st level, and gain one additional skill rank at first level and every level after that.
