Covet: Kelsey was sitting on the couch, she'd had a long day going to her Therapy appointment as well as her class. She'd tried to do her best to sit in the back and just watch, but given her rather well known status... that was easier said than done. Her phone was sitting on her lap, feeling herself kind of nodding off as she watched some late night channel reality tv show.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad was sitting on the couch next to Kelsey, not wanting to be home alone worrying since CJ had the late shift at the hospital this evening. He also had his phone sitting in his lap because he hadn't been without it all weekend. Fortunately for everyone, he'd brought both Hennessy and Guinness with him to Kelsey's so the two dogs were wandering around exploring.-
Covet: [*Bryan?]
Covet: Kelsey sat up a bit and looked over at Byan. "Have you heard anything new on Steph?" She asked him then gave a yawn. "I'm going to warm up some water for some hot chocolate, do you want some?"
Alexithymiaa: (God dammit. Too many B's. I used to do this all the time too)
Alexithymiaa: -He gave a shrug of his shoulder. "Yeah, I guess I'll take some. But only if you have the little marshmallows too. It's shit without little marshmallows." He said like he wasnt talking to Kelsey who had probably heard some variation of that statement before. "No. I didn't get a call today. I talked to Felix yesterday afternoon and she was sleeping a lot."-
Covet: "Yes I got the mini marshmallows." She said rolling her eyes, putting the kettle on the stove. I've got whipped cream too if you'd like." She said to him. " But that's good though right? That she's sleeping alot? Given the heart attack and all."
Alexithymiaa: "I want whipped cream, yes." He said with a firm nod, watching Guinness wander by into the kitchen to investigate what Kelsey was doing. "CJ said it is, yeah. And she also keeps reassuring me nothing bad is going to happen to her in that hospital."-
Covet: "Well I think CJ would know best, she's got the most experience out of all of us, about what needs to be done." She said, getting a couple of mugs out and set up with the ingredients needed.
Alexithymiaa: "I know, it's just an unsettling feeling. I don't know what to do if I can't be there. Like what, just sit here and wait to find out shit?" He asked sarcastically even though that was the correct answer.-
Covet: "You'd be doing the same thing there though. So it's not much different. And if things happen, not that they will, IF, we'll fly out immediately." Kelsey told him.
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, but at least if I'm there I don't have to wait for updates through someone else. I can talk to the doctor myself and I can be in the room if she needs anything."-
Covet: "Isn't that what Felix is there for?" Kelsey asked him the water started whistling and she picked it up adding it to the mugs before stirring them.
Alexithymiaa: "Well yeah, but..." He trailed off, trying to figure out how to communicate that he WANTED to be overbearing without coming off that way. "It's not the same. He's not going to call me to check in every hour or whatever."-
Covet: "No but he will check in with you when it is necessary, so you're just going to have to live with that. " Kelsey told him because suck it up buttercup.
Alexithymiaa: "I know." He grumbled, sinking on the couch a bit and dipping his hand down to scratch Hennessy's head on her way passed. "That doesn't mean I have to like it though. I'm used to being there."-
Covet: "Well, You'll get used to how things are now. It just takes time." She told him finishing up his hot chocolate, toppings and all, bring it out to him. "But think of it this way, the fewer updates you're getting the better she's doing. Means there's nothing to worry about."
Alexithymiaa: "Not necessarily." He said under his breath, reaching out to take the mug from her. "Knowing her she's repeatedly requested not to tell me things."-
Covet: "Yeah, well has Felix not told you anything so far?" She asked sipping on her mug after she sat down.
Alexithymiaa: "I don't know, how am I supposed to know what I don't know?" He asked her, giving her a grin because it amused him.-
Covet: "You don't. That's the whole point." Kelsey said taking another sit. "But He's kept you in the loop that this is happening, which is more than what Steph would do."
Alexithymiaa: "True..." He took a sip of his hot chocolate, pleased with Kelsey's hot chocolate skills. "I need to get out there soon to finalize wedding stuff anyway, though..."-
Covet: "Yeah, what all do you have left to do?" She asked him happy for the change of subject.
Alexithymiaa: "Pay the rest of the bill on the hall." He said with a scuff because they'd blown so much money already on the wedding. "We put a deposit down to book it, but they need it paid off a month before the wedding. And they won't accept a credit card over the phone. It has to be a stupid banker's check. I swear it would have been easier to just get married here."-
Covet: "Is it you or CJ that wants to do it in Portland?" She asked him. "But it sounds like you're too far into it to really change things up now."
Alexithymiaa: "Sort of both of us. Most of my friends and family are in Portland, and all of hers are. It's really that it's more convenient for everyone else than us. And we definitely can't change shit that's only a couple months away."-
Covet: "Yeah, I get that." She said. " Might as well just go for it then. But at least you don't have a whole lot left to do. So that should make things seem less panicky and stressful."
Alexithymiaa: "I'm not really that stressed. It's not like it was the first time around. I guess that means that was wrong and this is right?" He asked, trying to look at the bright side.-
Covet: "Yeah I'd think so. Plus, CJ seems to be a way better match for you. She tollerates so much of you, without freaking out like Aubrey always did. You guys were kind of toxic together." Kelsey said.
Alexithymiaa: "So I've been told. Kind of hard to see when you're nose deep in the shit, right?" He asked, taking another sip of his hot chocolate.-
Covet: "Yeah... I think that goes for pretty much anything you happen to be that deep in." She said with a bit of a frown. "But that doesn't meant they'll always be that way."
Alexithymiaa: "Of course not. Look at me? I got out. Even if I wanted to murder people for a while. Its just the natural course things take. Everyone gets out eventually."-
Covet: "Mhhm." Kelsey said with a smile. "I'm getting out of mine too. Slowly. I'm hoping to get a better handle on some of the... other things that's come of all this."
Alexithymiaa: "You're out. You're in the post out phase, but you're definitely out. What else comes with this?"-
Covet: "There's some anxiety that's come along. Not necessarily form the cocaine usage, but it's definitely become something more... prominent in my life." Kelsey said.
Alexithymiaa: "That's something you work through though. That's not the end of the world. Especially not the end of the world like it could be with usage like that. And CJ said you're doing therapy so that's good. You're taking care of yourself."-
Covet: "Yeah. I should have probably went a long time ago. But I always thought I had such a good hand on things, and could take on more." Kelsey said. "Clearly I was wrong about that."
Alexithymiaa: "If it makes you feel any better, everyone in our family has the same problem so you can just blame that on genetics." He shot her a wide cheesy grin.-
Covet: "I'm not sure if that makes me feel better or worse." She said to him pursing her lips. "But I know it's not on anyone but myself. I've made my own choices, I accept that much.-Tae
Covet: [wow.... I'm failing all over the place]
Covet: I accept that much." Kelsey said
Alexithymiaa: "Did you learn that line in therapy?" He asked. "Sounds like a therapy tool. Accepting responsibility for your actions."-
Covet: "I mean, it is, but it's not like it's a bad one." Kelsey said. "It's called personal responsibility."
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah maturity, growth, self discovery yada yada yada...." He waved his hand through the air. "I know. It's good for you though. I'm glad it's been working out for you. It's probably kind of hard to go for the first time."-
Covet: "Yeah...I've really only talked on that level with Brad, and even that isn't that often. Sometimes my mom, but not even her as much these days." Kelsey said.
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, but isn't he like super weird?" Bryan asked candidly because hes never liked Brad. "Like I can't imagine you can get real conversation from talking to him about that kind of stuff."-
Covet: "Sometimes, it's not easy, but he's surprised me a few times. Which is why going to a therapist is a good thing." Kelsey said.
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, you need to talk to a real person who actually knows what they're doing." He said with a nod, intending it to be more of a dig at Brad, but realistically she should be talking to a professional anyway.-
Covet: "Yeah. I know." Kelsey said with a nod. " I'm going to go shower and get ready for bed, But you're more than welcome to keep hanging out if you want." she added.
Alexithymiaa: "Yeahhhh I might. CJ doesn't get off until four and I don't want to just go home and be there in case I get a call about anything." He said as he slipped down further on the couch, making himself right at home.-
