Knowledgeable - He is nicknamed Grandpa because he is perhaps the most knowledgeable of the group. He also likes giving the others advice and helping them whenever they need.

Baginning: In the past, he used to think very highly of himself, without realising it. He used to judge people that didn't have the same beliefs as he did and despite that, he thought he was a good, genuine person. Which made him a hypocrite. He used to spend his life on his phone / social media and didn't actually live or make memorable memories with friends.

Middle: But that changed when he lost everything in less than a second. After facing death - real death, Matt came to realise how little he had actually lived and how hopeless he is in this type of situations. He became aware of how much he needed friends - real friends and how much there is to lose if he keeps living inside his bubble.

End: although he is not the same shallow person he used to be, he still has to work on himself, to be the best version of himself.
