  1. This article contains parts of a profound and ancient teaching, yet it also corrupts it, shaping it into something which fits into a modern 'New Age' paradigm. This may be done deliberately to confuse people. The core teaching is becoming more well known, so it's inevitable that frauds will appear to corrupt and confuse it. Yet it's also possible this teacher is sincere but of limited understandings. In the website bio it says this author believes he 'awakened' in 2014, having had no prior spiritual experience. Such an initial awakening can convince someone they know it all, and they can go out into the world with great energy, even developing devout followers, as this teacher seems to be aiming for. Such teachers can play a role in the spiritual development of others, but it doesn't mean they are fully 'awakened' (whatever that means).
  2.
  3. I know the core teaching well, and I didn't just 'awaken' three years ago, so I'm going to pull it apart. Please note that the corrections here are very subtle, very easily missed by those not used to such spiritual discrimination. Thus it may sound like I'm picking nits or arguing semantics. Yet there can be a world of difference created by even a subtle shift in understanding. Those who distort teachings, deliberately or unconciously, rely on these subtleties.
  4.
  5. This is why some Buddhist sects, for example, won't even expose students to some teachings until they are 'ready'. Advanced teachings intended for higher consciousness can be distorted by those in lower consciousness. For example, 'we are all one' can be distorted into globalism, authoritarian communism, group think, etc., which don't reflect unity at all.
  6.
  7. Some of the teachings in this article are advanced, and much of it is 'correct' or useful. We do create reality with our thoughts, there may be a time delay, and our experience is an illusion. I think a far more valuable and holistically complete version of this teaching appears in the Conversations With God series of books by Neale Donald Walsch, which I strongly recommend. The version presented in this article contradicts and ignores several key aspects included in those books, which causes it to lead to a very different place.
  8.
  9. This article basically is a rewriting of the 'life is a school' teaching, which is a false teaching. So let's pull on a few threads. [Article quotes in italics.]
  10.
  11. <i>Our entire Universe is a manifestation of the separation game. It’s like a huge multi-stage set where the separation game is playing out on many worlds and at many levels. One of the worlds where the separation game is in full swing is our very own planet Earth.</i>
  12.
  13. Actually, the 'separation game' represents a level of consciousness, not "our entire universe", or even the whole planet, not by a long shot. Our entire universe is a manifestation of the entirety of consciousness, which is infinite. It includes many levels and dimensions of consciousness. Separation consciousness is merely a thin band in all of this. Right here on Earth, there are masters living in higher consciousness, and seeing 'the world' through that level. Separation consciousness doesn't own the Earth, it just believes it does, lays claim to it, as that is its nature. That's all it can see.
  14.
  15. Who is the "our" group this author is referring to? Blinded, egoic human beings only? Notice the word "our" lays ownership (an egoic concept) on the entire universe, and forces us to join in that ownership by being a reader. This is mind control.
  16.
  17. <i>But eventually, with much experimentation, we hit upon a combination of many elements that did the trick.</i>
  18.
  19. There is no experimentation or discovery in life, not at the level of the soul. The soul is the aspect of us which is God, so it already knows all. The time-based narrative that souls were trying to come up with a new game for themselves, to learn something or fix something, does not speak of objective reality, the soul's reality. It is a human story which emerges from separation reality. Yet this author presents this story as the way it actually is.
  20.
  21. It is arrogance beyond belief to assume human beings can perceive 'the way it is' from our current perspective, or that it would fit so neatly in our current cultural paradigm. What we are involved in is sacred work, not a mere virtual reality game.
  22.
  23. <i>The efficacy of the Veil of Unknowing is amply demonstrated by the fact that the existence of God and spirit has not been proven... And every single one of us is spirit, and yet it is very reasonable to claim that there is no spirit!</i>
  24.
  25. I don't think it's reasonable to claim this at all. This perspective is not enlightened, it is 'matrix'. Any capable open-minded scientist, and there have been many over the centuries, who has attempted to prove spirit has done so. The mountain of evidence is concrete and overwhelming. It is very hard to avoid the 'discovery' of spirit, and very easy to find evidence for it. This doesn't demonstrate some 'Veil' being imposed, it shows that there are no secrets kept by God. God would have us understand it all, and is sending us messages all the time.
  26.
  27. Some comments from a very capable scientist:
  28.
  29. "My brain is only a receiver, in the Universe there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength and inspiration. I have not penetrated into the secrets of this core, but I know that it exists." ~ Nikola Tesla [Does he say it is "very reasonable to claim that there is no spirit"?]
  30.
  31. "Instinct is something which transcends knowledge. We have, undoubtedly, certain finer fibers that enable us to perceive truths when logical deduction, or any other willful effort of the brain, is futile." ~ Nikola Tesla
  32.
  33. "The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence." ~ Nikola Tesla
  34.
  35. "If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration." ~ Nikola Tesla
  36.
  37. And here are Tesla's thoughts on the 'life is a school' idea:
  38. "It is paradoxical, yet true, to say, that the more we know, the more ignorant we become in the absolute sense, for it is only through enlightenment that we become conscious of our limitations." ~ Nikola Tesla
  39.
  40. Overall this article tries to describe a 'game' that was created involving a Veil of Unknowing ("When we incarnate we completely forget that we chose and planned this incarnation and our reasons for doing so" - a false statement for some), a manifestation time delay, etc. Yet what this 'game' actually describes is dysfunction that results from egoic, or separation consciousness. Yes, this level of consciousness was 'created deliberately', because everything is created deliberately, and yes, we do choose to forget. Yet ignorance and the time delay are illusions which egoic consciousness becomes trapped in, which creates dysfunction. In a sense this dysfunction is deliberate, but not in the sense that it is the goal of higher consciousness.
  41.
  42. Consider a human child. Learning to walk, it will stumble and fall. This is a dysfunction in its ability to walk, yet does stumbling represent a defect in the child, or is it merely part of a process the child is using to master a new skill?
  43.
  44. The game the child is playing is not called 'I want to stumble'. The game is called 'I want to walk'. Likewise, human consciousness did not create 'the game' in order to experience forgetfulness and time. Those are just aberrations, errors, dysfunction (and I'll show how, later). Saying they were chosen is true in the sense that a child who chooses to walk will likely stumble, so it's 'part of the game', but its not true in the sense that it is what is primarily being chosen.
  45.
  46. The analogy ends there, because higher consciousness is not trying to learn or discover anything, and it does not progress in time. As Conversation With God says and explains clearly, life is a process of creation, not a process of discovery. Higher consciousness doesn't stumble, it creates perfectly, and it knows all (would you expect less of God?) It plays out its consciousness in dreams (what we call real life), FOR JOY, for experience, as an aspect of its being. To know everything is one thing, to experience it is another. Any errors encountered in this process, such as forgetfulness and time, are deliberate, yet temporary and part of a process.
  47.
  48. In other words, the purpose here on Earth is and always was JOY, NOW, not at some later time after we have 'learned'. The purpose is to remember, not to learn. It was not 'meant to be' a school or a training ground for anything. (I realize this contradicts many religious and lower spiritual teachings.) We weren't meant to suffer. Yet like the child walking, we have the capacity to stumble, to suffer. It is an almost inevitable part of a process called consciousness raising, yet hardly the purpose or meaning.
  49.
  50. <i>The details of how this time delay is produced is unclear, but it is “by design”, and it does indeed obscure the connection between our thoughts and what appears in our reality.</i>
  51.
  52. Nothing is unclear to the awakened. If the process is unclear to this author, how is it he is sure that this delay is by design and intended to obscure? Because they are pieces of teachings he (or someone else) borrowed and because it fits the story.
  53.
  54. He is correct in that it is by design and is intended to obscure, but he is incorrect that this delay is the product of higher consciousness, higher design. Rather, it is a stumble.
  55.
  56. The time delay between thought and manifestation, and the experience we call 'time', is created by the focusing and shifting of attention. In this case, the ego, which is a (virtually) non-integrated fragment of consciousness, creates time and delay by shifting attention.
  57.
  58. As a young child, your heart beat, your liver functioned cleaning your blood, and your skin healed from cuts and bruises. Yet you didn't know about any of this, didn't understand it; you were more interested in hugging a puppy. These processes which were keeping your body alive were subconscious - they were relegated to that part of your being which does things automatically, without your conscious awareness.
  59.
  60. Much of attention is also controlled subconsciously, by what you might call habits or instincts. These are aspects of ourselves which we once set in motion, and which we then forget about and allow to happen automatically. Yet we can also make the subconscious conscious, and thereby change that programming.
  61.
  62. The ego is like a child, and also like a fox. It is limited-awareness consciousness, or lower consciousness. It is actually a facet of the human ape, the ape brain. You can think of it as a computer program which the ape uses to find berries and navigate its world. It's limited to internal memory. When the computer, the being, gets (re)connected to the network, then this program becomes less important, because the being has access to a greater mind, the apps of God. Purpose then also changes, from merely finding berries to being love.
  63.
  64. The ego is thus meant to be a temporary mind, but the great dysfunction we see on Earth is ego which is trapped. 'You' have become identified with your ape mind, which is only a tiny aspect of who you really are, so you try to preserve it. This (mis)identification is a stumble on the way to learning to walk and fly. It is as if you were driving your car, and became convinced you ARE your car, which creates all kinds of dysfunction.
  65.
  66. The egoic mind is very clever, very cunning, very selfish and hungry. It attempts to manipulate its environment. Early in the process, the ego learns to lie, to deceive, to get its way. It becomes good at shifting its attention to itself and others. It believes its own lies. This is where time comes from. The ego shifts its attention 'in time' to convince itself it is innocent, that it didn't create something it did. It dons blinders. Time is denial. Eventually this habit of avoiding truth becomes subconscious. The conscious adult mind is completely trapped in what the child mind created: time and forgetfulness. This is the basis of Freudian psychoanalysis, for example. By returning to childhood memories, these subconscious programs are found and re-integrated.
  67.
  68. So the fact that we have forgotten much and that there is a perceived delay that hides the fact of our being creators is deliberate and by design, but it is by the design of a deceitful egoic mind. It is usually the result of deep psychological traumas that affected the child. These become repressed, lost to conscious memory. Yet their programs continue running. This isn't to say the child is merely a victim though, in that the child's beliefs are what actually create the trauma, not the events themselves.
  69.
  70. As one delves into the subconscious, one brings one's light there and transforms it into conscious material. This involves the restoration of childhood memory, the releasing of emotional trauma, and the re-integration of the egoic mind fragments. It is a life-changing process. In the modern day, this is found in psychoanalysis and other depth psychology, some practices taught by L. Ron Hubbard in Dianetics/scientology, practices of shamans (eg Castaneda's ancient Mexican shamans' 'recapitulation'), and other forms.
  71.
  72. As this occurs, the time delay between thought and manifestation grows shorter (something the author doesn't address at all). Eventually, manifestation is instant: miracles are produced. Amnesia also dissipates. If you want to know how spiritually progressed you are, see how short is the 'time' between your will to create and the result. See how well you remember being a child, and feel like one. Yet the author presents these limitations as some kind of veil of forgetfulness or a time field applied to this reality, affecting everyone equally. It doesn't affect everyone equally, because it reflects a level of consciousness.
  73.
  74. Shamans say this 'recapitulation', or restoration of emotional memory, is how they lighten themselves to continue their evolution. They recognize that they can't go on carrying all of that baggage, and being subjected to all the limitations it creates, such as amnesia and fixation in 'time', not to mention bias and blindness. This is why shamans and others are able to access such dimensions - they have released this emotionally charged baggage, or are in the process of doing so.
  75.
  76. The author here seems 'young' in that he has not seriously entered this stage. As a result, his egoic mind looks to explain away forgetfulness and time as part of a game, hiding its subconscious purpose. In Freudian terms this is called 'resistance', and it must be overcome to get to the heart of the matter, to truly 'awaken'. Yet this can be very painful, difficult work, so even spiritual people avoid it. Yet this sabotages their progress. They may become teachers in the meantime, partly as a way of avoiding their own work, their own path.
  77.
  78. Note that this is not the usual human work, in that it resides outside of time. Those traumas are NOW, and are accessed from the now. They are not really just in the 'past'. But initially the work may seem like its exploring the past.
  79.
  80. <i>One way that the time delay between your thoughts and their manifestations hides your creatorship is that it allows you to get distracted by all the other stuff going on in your life and fail to see the connection. When the result arrives in your life, it is very easy not to see the correlation and not realize that your earlier thoughts created it.</i>
  81.
  82. The ego wants you distracted, it wants this connection hidden in order to control 'you'. It is the original conspiracy. ("We've traced the call... it's coming from inside the house!" - an old movie reference.) You are fooling yourself via this time delay. Mostly this is done reflexively, subconsciously, as the ego avoids pain and loss caused by seeing the connection. (This is why denial runs so deep in people.) The ego protects itself via this mechanism. Yet it is very tricky, very deceitful, intentionally.
  83.
  84. When you master or integrate the ego's fragments, you too can play with time, and won't feel trapped in it. You won't need to leave Earth or change the whole world, but it will seem like the whole world has changed.
  85.
  86. <i>So at any given moment, you’re getting a mixture of manifestations/results from a whole bunch of different sponsoring thoughts making it very difficult to see the connections. Hence it is not at all obvious that you are actually creating your reality.</i>
  87.
  88. It's actually not difficult at all, though it can be from the limited perspective created by ego. This confusion of distraction is the ego's mark. Once half of you isn't sabotaging the other half, it is not difficult at all. It is natural, like the Aboriginals 'dream time'. They are humans on Earth, too, no? Yet they work with time differently, because their psyche is different, their upbringing as children is different.
  89.
  90. <i>If the manifestations of our thoughts appeared quickly, as they do in many other realities and planes of existence, it would be completely obvious that we were creating all of it and hence we’d quickly realize that we were creators and this game that we wanted to play would not last very long at all. We wanted to experience forgetting of who and what we really are and the time delay between thought and manifestation is a very powerful device that facilitates this.<i>
  91.
  92. We again see this narrative of 'wanting' to forget who we are, and that all creation is delayed, except in other 'planes of existence'. Yet these are actually artifacts acquired by the human ape mind trying to get its way. They aren't the desired experience, as any suffering ego will tell you. They certainly aren't desired by higher consciousness, but they are allowed by it, because higher consciousness understands the larger process. The only way for the human ape to experience itself as creator is to create (freedom), and this includes 'mistakes'. Yet higher consciousness desires we remember.
  93.
  94. <i>yet the spirit beings who dove in and played within it found themselves awakening not all that long after starting and the game thereby essentially ending.</i>
  95.
  96. This can be seen as a clear flaw in the author's narrative, in that he is attributing time ("long after") to the spirit beings' frame of reference and purpose. What does "long after" mean outside of time? This is the problem with narratives that attribute human qualities to spirit. In objective reality, there is no time, and spirits don't 'awaken'. They are always 'awake', even when at play. Yet the ego is not. Such stories can be teaching tools, yet the fact that this author presents them as 'how it really is' should be cause for concern.
  97.
  98. <i>The idea was to have a few souls incarnate into the game with the specific purpose of playing adversarial roles.</i>
  99.
  100. This is a belief that evil exists as an absolute, which is not a high spiritual understanding. Those you call evil or adversaries do not necesssarily see themselves that way. They are not an 'adversary' in some objective sense. That's a value judgment you're applying to them from your perspective. They may think you are the 'adversary'. Right and wrong are not absolutes, they are perspectives, values, which change over time.
  101.
  102. <i>They found themselves reacting with shock and anger to these new players and feeling the desire for justice and retribution. It encouraged them to fear and distrust each other which led them to harm each other and create pain and suffering. This device caused all the players to gradually become more and more adversarial themselves!</i>
  103.
  104. This is another narrative born in time and separation, which is supposed to explain a purpose which lies beyond those. It is a causal narrative, one thing causing another ("caused", "led them to"), and in time (past tense, "gradually"). Yet which came first, the chicken or the egg? The retribution or the sin? Perhaps they are part and parcel of the same level of consciousness, and create one another?
  105.
  106. This author is basically telling us the old rotten story of original sin, cloaking it in New Age garb.
  107.
  108. Higher consciousness wasn't there first, in pure form, then creating lower consciousness. Rather, lower and higher consciousness are merely ways of looking at the same thing. It is like breaking down a being into mind, body and spirit. Or breaking life into Yin and Yang. Yet there is no real separation between mind, body and spirit, they together ARE the being. Likewise, God, or All, is all consciousness, is Yin/Yang. You can't separate out part of it and say it was created as merely a game, in time, and claim to be describing objective reality.
  109.
  110. <i>they tumble ever deeper into separation and into a state of consciousness that has been aptly called "Victim Consciousness."</i>
  111.
  112. One does not tumble into it, one is rising out of it. The grain, or direction, of the force of Life is always evolution. It's always rising, even when it is apparently regressing. (Ignore this grain and you create suffering.) This is a fear-based teaching like hell, where you must fear falling into darkness and being lost. Yet that is simply not what is occurring in life. Life is always rising, despite appearances. "Life goes not backward, nor tarries with yesterday." There is nothing to fear or avoid.
  113.
  114. Awareness of higher consciousness always arises from lower consciousness, or it could not exist. There is always 'new' lower consciousness being added, through a soul process called completion. As a soul reaches a certain level, it releases its identity to become unaware again, or 'forget'. In so doing it enters the role of lower consciousness, yet for its next highest purpose. It may seem like it's going in circles, but if you stretch it out, it's actually a spiral, so it's always 'rising', or progressing. This goes on forever, which is a time-based way of saying it is the now reality. This is 'how it is'. Lower and higher consciousness are ultimately one, and they always exist.
  115.
  116. <i>This is what parts of the ONE (source consciousness) do when they put themselves in a separation reality.</i>
  117.
  118. There is no such thing as separation reality, or putting oneself into it. There is simply life. What you put yourself into is a perspective, which creates perception. Life is everywhere, and everywhere it may be engaged from various perspectives. If you could see 'separation reality', or the events of it, from another perspective, you wouldn't call it 'separation reality' at all. Rather, you'd notice 'separation reality' is a virtual reality, a matrix, entertained by those in egoic, or lower consciousness. Yet declaring that reality 'separation reality' is incorrect, as higher consciousness is also participating in the creation of those same events, from another perspective. Only ego would lay claim to it in this manner (because it fails to see higher consciousness at all, and because it seeks to 'own the world').
  119.
  120. There are angels walking the Earth. There are human beings sitting in meadows contemplating the divine. There are people feeling love and joy. These are not part of 'separation reality', yet they are part of life on Earth, just as war and hatred are. Even in the midst of war, love and joy may be found. So how can you call the Earth 'separation reality'? That view is fundamentally flawed. The author will have a hard time letting go of it, though, as do many New Age teachers, because his ego is so invested in this narrative.
  121.
  122. <i>We have answered the question that we posed when we conceived of creating this separation reality — "What would that be like?” and “What could it teach us?"</i>
  123.
  124. Those are not questions the soul asks. The soul has nothing to learn or discover, it is God. Humans pretend they are learning; it's an act, the playing out of a role. The soul does not come 'here', to lower consciousness, to learn anything, that's for sure! What do you think lower consciousness could teach it? Rather, it uses lower consciousness, limited awareness, to experience what it already knows. The soul comes here to play out its joy. If you're not experiencing the total joy of this process, this 'dream', now, then you are in the process of waking up to it. As a creator, you are stumbling. Yet this stumbling is not a problem, it is part of the process the soul intended. Yet the stumbling does not define the reality, it is not the goal.
  125.
  126. <i>Playing the game that this reality system has provided us has been so very interesting, exciting, and challenging and more than a little disturbing and painful at times but it has taught us so very much — a hard fact to appreciate from our limited perspective immersed within it.</i>
  127.
  128. Actually, it has taught us nothing. When you die, you won't care about your worldly accomplishments or knowledge, except the level of joy and truth you expressed. The disturbing and the painful, the struggle, are chaff, not grain, not the purpose. If you are suffering, then you have forgotten something, which creates a distorted view of life.
  129.
  130. <i>From our perspective within the game and behind the veil it’s hard not to be shocked and ask why would we do this to ourselves?! But from the perspective of our higher selves that conceived of and created this reality/game, we would smile and say, “Mission accomplished!” Again, from our limited perspective within the game its natural that we wouldn’t feel very enthusiastic about accomplishing the amazing feat that this reality represents.</i>
  131.
  132. The soul does not look at this level of the game and say 'mission accomplished'. It's purpose is to express its pure joy in physical form. Does that look accomplished to you? Again, the author is declaring a stumble success and suffering the purpose of the 'game'. This is denial. It occurs frequently in spiritual people who believe themselves 'awakened', finished, yet who are not experiencing pure joy. Instead of admitting they are still in ego, still have work to do, they pretend that darkness is light.
  133.
  134. <i>The point of all this was to create a reality where we could lose ourselves completely in separation and duality and find out what that would be like and learn whatever it would teach us.</i>
  135.
  136. Here the author states (again, hammering it into us) his thesis at the end, filled with errors. Again he has the soul discovering and learning something, and believes the purpose was to lose ourselves. The purpose was not to lose ourselves, nor to find ourselves. It was and is to enjoy ourselves. That is happening. If you are not experiencing that, in this very world, now, you are not 'awakened'.
  137.
  138. As for it being a 'game', this is problematic too. Declaring the deep emotional trauma of human childhood in this area, and its dysfunctional effects, a game is disrespectful. When one glimpses one's soul, feels it, one stops calling it a game. It's just too deep and profound for that. Yet experience is indeed an illusion. That illusion has a specific purpose: expression. To express means to push out, to reveal what is within. Most of the artifacts of the author's 'game' revolve around not expression but repression.
  139.
  140. <i>This mechanism facilitates hiding our creatorship from us because it hides the fact that we can self-emote. Discovering that you can self-emote — that you can choose how you feel at any particular moment inevitably leads to realizing that you are not a victim to your external circumstances</i>
  141.
  142. Emotion is the movement of energy within the body, it is an effect. Even animals can control it. As for feelings, which are another subject from emotions, you cannot just feel whatever you want. Feelings are truth, the language of the soul showing us what we're being. Yet you can change feelings. You do this by changing what you are being, your state of being. So the author has some of the ideas of that teaching, but they are distorted and confused. I would recommend the author read the Conversations With God series to study this in more depth - there is more to be said than I can articulate in this space.
  143.
  144. <i>We dive into the game putting ourselves under a spell of forgetfulness, and the game continues until we are ready to remember.</i>
  145.
  146. The game never ends, even after 'you' remember. Higher and lower consciousness are part of each other, and lower consciousness isn't just 'bad'. It includes delicious aspects like sexuality and primal qualities that may be greatly enjoyed, albeit at lower frequencies. God exists at ALL frequencies, and may be seen and felt there, not just at high ones. Even when you see through part of the game, and in that form it 'ends' for you, you will notice it goes on for others, all around you.
  147.
  148. <i>And in this game of forgetting and separation, we discover the most amazing things about ourselves, life, and All That Is.</i>
  149.
  150. Life is not a process of discovery, it is a process of creation.
  151.
  152. Thus, despite having pieces of profound teachings, this article is mostly written from the perspective of egoic consciousness, not enlightenment. That's not to discourage the author from exploring and sharing such teachings, it is meant to encourage genuine discipline and mastery. The author's understandings are not there yet, because he has not gone deeply into his own psyche. That usually takes more than three years, even for us 'quick' ones.
