- Saying we don't use IQ for anything is insane. Intelligence tests are part of many nation's legal definitions of mental retardation. IQ tests are used in some nations as party of a battery of tests to estimate the probability of recidivism when considering letting an inmate go. In the private sector, most major corporations use intelligence tests in the hiring process for high level jobs to predict job performance. I could go on. He is assuming that there is nothing to know about a topic simply because he doesn't know anything about it.
