  1. Hello Hogg, I’d like to talk to you about my tournament ban. Now, I carefully considered whether or not I wanted to send a message like this at all, but eventually I came to the conclusion that it was worth a shot and that I felt that I have grown enough as a user as well as a person in general, and I believe that I was unfairly reviewed regarding my tournament ban. The reason I have thought this is because I have received no information on that status, the thread has not been updated, and the only information I’ve gotten is that I was denied by a TD, whom I had to ask, and that was all the information I was given. I’d like to know the reasoning behind why my tournament ban was at least not shortened. However today, I’d not like to dwell on the negative, but rather look at the positives of my career. I have changed a lot over the past 6 months, and even more over this past month (after my tournament ban review was held).

  3. For starters, I’d like to mention that my contributions go beyond just Smogon. On Pokémon Showdown, I was very gratefully given the position of a voiced user in the NeverUsed room. This was not just because of my participations in the chat, but also my forum posts as well, where I have been known to have made some uninformed posts in the past. It wasn’t always like this after my tournament ban, admittedly. Only in the past few months have I maneuvered the art of posting and contributing on Smogon, and I hope to continue doing that in the future. Here’s some posts and threads that may help confirm this:

  8. Unfortunately, most of my recent contributions have been primarily the Showdown chat, so I don’t have much to give in that regard. However, recently I’ve gotten into GP work, as well as some Flying Press stuff (I’d show The Flying Press article I’m trying to write but I don’t know if I’m supposed to link that). Here’s some of the amchecks I have done to get better at C&C:

  14. I’ve done a few others as well but these were my best three in my opinion.

  16. Lastly, I have not tried to evade my tournament ban in any way throughout my tour ban. In fact, I’ve made efforts to completely avoid cheating. I’ve been asked to ghost some people a couple of times and I’ve denied. I’m not going to prove this for obvious reasons but I hope you’ll take my word for it.

  18. So, overall, while I was a pretty shitty user before my tournament ban, after my tournament ban, I’ve actually grown a ton as a user, trying to make contributions to Smogon, as well as specifically contributing to the NU chat room on PS! and the NU forum. Why would I ask you of this now? Smogon Snake Draft has come up now, and I feel like as a player I am solid enough to be picked up by a team potentially as a substitute. I’ve learned a lot about risk vs reward, team building, and such, not only from overall experience, but I’ve also participated in Battle 101 I believe right after my tournament ban was announced, so I’ve learned quite a bit. I hope that you carefully consider this appeal, and even if I get denied, I’d like to know why. Thank you for your time.
