➸ sakimoto kenta was born on april 24th, 1998 in yokohama, japan to his single japanese mother: sakimoto mikanto. kenta's father had left during mikanto's pregnancy, but never returned after kenta's birth.

mikanto was left alone to raise him and was struggling financially and physically. kenta's mother struggled as he grew up. mikanto had to live on the streets for a period of time, due to her not having enough money to live in an apartment.

kenta was young at the time and needed food and other things to survive. his mother would try calling out for help at night, when it's crowded in yokohama. but, no one would help out mikanoto, until one day, a police officer went to help out his mother. the police officer who helped out mikanto became kenta's adoptive dad.

afterwards, kenta's life had gotten better. kenta went to school in japan, and continued his life from there. as kenta was about to enter high school, kenta developed a passion for rapping and music, and wanted to become a musician in the future. his mother was totally on board with him, and after he graduated from high school in japan, kenta and mikanto moved to korea to start his path to being a k-idol.

before auditioning for c9 entertainment, kenta had studied korean in high school back in japan. so, he was semi-fluent in korean. then, the day of his audition, he passed with no problem, since his hard work had paid off.

now, he's on his way to fulfilling his dreams of becoming a k-idol!
