  1. > Why are gainers allowed?
  2. > Gainers are actually a combination of two intended mechanics applied together in an unintended way. Despite gainers not being intended, because these mechanics that allow for a gainer function how they're supposed to, gainers actually can not be considered a glitch. These mechanics are:
  3. - Being able to grab a ledge out of a backflip. Fairly self-explanatory, and something you can test yourself by backflipping in front of a ledge you can grab.
  4. - Targeting a wall setting your angle perpendicular to the wall AND moving you a set distance from the wall. This is very important, as it's why the backflip does not move you too far away from the wall in order to grab it.
  5.
  6. > Why are long jumps allowed?
  7. > Long jumps are actually a combination of two intended mechanics applied together in an unintended way. Despite long jumps not being intended, because these mechanics that allow for a long jump function how they're supposed to, long jumps actually can not be considered a glitch. These mechanics are:
  8. - Taking damage. Fairly self-explanatory, and something you can test yourself by just playing the game.
  9. - Standing near a ledge. This is very important, as Link jumps automatically when he moves off of a ledge.
  10.
  11. > Why are HESSes allowed?
  12. > HESSes are actually a combination of two intended mechanics applied together in an unintended way. Despite HESSes not being intended, because these mechanics that allow for a HESS function how they're supposed to, HESSes actually can not be considered a glitch. These mechanics are:
  13. - Being able to roll. Fairly self-explanatory, and something you can test yourself by holding target and pressing A.
  14. - Holding a slight analog input such that Link turns in place. This is very important, as it's why your speed does not diminish during the HESS.
  15.
  16. > Why is ISG allowed?
  17. > ISG is actually a combination of two intended mechanics applied together in an unintended way. Despite ISG not being intended, because these mechanics that allow for ISG function how it's supposed to, ISG actually can not be considered a glitch. These mechanics are:
  18. - Crouch stabbing. Fairly self-explanatory, and something you can test yourself by holding R and hitting B.
  19. - Reading a sign or talking to someone or picking something up or taking damage or pretty much anything else. This is very important, as it's why your sword slash gets interrupted.
