  1. Exciting news about my Youtube!
  2. You may have noticed a healthy bump in my YouTube activity in the last couple of weeks!
  3.
  4. Originally, I had this dumb idea that I should save only the -absolute best- material for YT, and sort of let everything linger at Twitch. As in, all the streaming at Twitch, all the highlights at twitch, and like 1% of the best of everything from Twitch getting exported to YouTube.
  5.
  6. It's really weird I had that broken attitude for a long time. It seems silly now. Even in 2006-2007, I didn't bother uploading my then-amazing speedruns to YouTube because I felt SDA was "the higher plateau" for them to be viewed. At the time, I knew my stuff wasn't perfect. I was aware I was getting better at speedrunning by W3 and already disliking what I settled for in W1 starting off.
  7.
  8. My YouTube uploading activity has been horrible since my account in 2006 due to this mentality.
  9.
  10. I realized recently that the YouTube channels with the most viewers/subs are the most active and consistent with uploads. Not necessarily the "best" videos.
  11.
  12. So, now I'm on a total 180 with the upload practice!
  13.
  14. This sub PM is to show the next huge step in that! I know I have a ton of international viewers, some may have data caps/throttling and can't watch Twitch for more than an hour or two a day. Some may not be home when I stream, and have to catch the archives. For some, I know one viewer inparticular, has messaged me about archiving my streams on YT so he can watch on his phone, or whatever device that doesn't have flash to view Twitch VODs.

  21.
  22. Yeah, all of last week's streams on YouTube!
  23.
  24. From now on, expect all archives uploaded. Promptness of archiving may vary, since I must download all videos from Twitch (which separates them into 30 min chunks) and merge them together to re-create the 5-9 hour experience before uploading.
  25.
  26. EVEN BETTER, I do have my stream archives from 2011-mid 2013. You'll see uploads going as far back as May 2011 by tomorrow if you sub to my YT and get notified (I have 1 uploading now). It's crazy how different things were then.
  27.
  28. Don't expect much commentary, unless something amazing happened in a particular stream retrospectively. Typically just the stream date, and maybe a single sentence.
  29.
  30. I have tons of valuable archives that I know a few hardcore TriHard fans have wanted to watch since 2012. All coming to my YouTube!:
  31.
  32. - AGDQ 2011 documentary videos (over 10 hours of HD video)
  33. - AGDQ 2012 documentary videos (over 20 hours of HD video)
  34. - AGDQ 2013 documentary videos (~3 hour of video, I didn't record much this year, lol)
  35. - J-Fetish Gaming Marahton
  36. - trihex's playthrough of Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door w/ trihex Voice Acting (TM) (<-- amazing watch!)
  37.
  38. I also plan to do YouTube -original videos- too! So far, everything has been exported from Twitch, but I have some things I want to make special for YT. I've had these in planning since, like, March! Check what's to come:
  39.
  40. 1) "How to Stream Video Games" tutorial series
  41. -- p1 - Console/Handheld capture
  42. -- p2 - Streaming hardware (PC & Notebook)
  43. -- p3 - Internet speed, data caps, bitrate, frame rate, throttling, etc.
  44. -- p4 - stream enhancements for your audience (Really, more of a "what not to do" guide; breezes into XSplit 101 guide)
  45.
  46. 2) "XSplit 101" tutorial series (In-depth look at every aspect of XSplit, from a -streamer's- perspective. Complicated things broken down for simple-to-use/understand purposes, questions answered from audience, etc.)
  47. -- p1 - XSplit scene break-down (I take scenes from my stream (full webcam + chat, for example) and explain every aspect, adding each part (webcam, then chat, then buttons, etc.) individually and showing how I make them look good)
  48. -- p2 - ask.fm Q&A (I take questions about streaming/XSplit from my ask.fm (I'll mention it during a #RealTalk that I'll start pulling questions from there for these later this year/next year) and demonstrate the answer live in video-form
  49.
  50. 3) "A tour of trihex's desk/stream set-up" (Detailed showing of my desk, layout, montiors, PC, keyboard, mouse, desk chair, & lighting. Provide insight into -why- everything is where it is; almost everything is that way for the stream for some, specific purpose.)
  51.
  52. By Sunday, the 1st part of this message (Stream Archives on YouTube) will be public knowledge. The rest won't be known for a bit longer, need to continue preparing.
  53.
  54. Let me know what you think about the YouTube Original Content. I've seen HUGE demand for a easy-to-follow guide for introduction into streaming. I get PMs about my quality constantly. So maybe this will help! The XSplit 101 is an extension of the introductory stuff into technical things to help your stream stand out.
  55.
  56. Just as important, tell me what else you want to see! Respond directly to this PM with what you think/like/dislike. These 3 ideas are a start, but hearing what -YOUR- demand is will give me a head start on conceptualizing the next step!
  57.
  58. See you guys Sunday!
