  1. End of the universe:
  2. Have you ever asked yourself questions like "How did our universe start?", "Did someone create our universe?", or maybe even "How does it all end?" These questions are largely part of philosophical and religious debate because most people cannot answer these questions.
  3.
  4. I know that you noticed. I said 'most'...
  5.
  6. Let me tell you a story. It's about the beginning, the end, and everything that's in the middle. I am part of a group called the Enders; a play on the word embers because we will outlive the flame of many more universes to come. There were six of us in the beginning. It was just us and the Great One. The Great One gave us all one wish that would last eternity. We had nothing but void around us- damn, we were nothing ourselves. Matter did not exist. We had no bodies. So we made our wishes to create the universe.
  7.
  8. Caelus had a very bold and protective personality. He wished to be what held this new idea. He wanted to embrace and contain this new mystery, so he became space itself. A powerful yet diluted consciousness permeating everywhere and stretching and contracting the universe at will.
  9.
  10. Celestia was a very maternal figure and wished to be part of the birth of the universe. The birth of life. She became star dust scattered across the universe. She coalesced parts of herself to birth new stars as she pleased. These stars, as you may know, created the first elements to form comets, planets, moons, and soon life itself.
  11.
  12. Aevum was fairly indecisive and wished to control the flow of what would soon be created. They wanted to be able to undo mistakes and stretch out the beautiful moments in this new universe. Aevum used their wish to control the flow of time. Time belt before their will going fast, slow, forwards backwards, or not at all.
  13.
  14. Augur was suspicious of Aevum's wish and did not trust them with that kind of power. Augur wanted to know what they were up to, so Augur became the seer of possibilities. The ability to know exactly what would happen next no matter what. Nothing would ever take them by surprise again.
  15.
  16. Then there was Umbra... They never used their wish actually. They just remained a consciousness without a body. None of us know if they even have a power. They just seem to be waiting.
  17.
  18. Oh, yeah. Then there's me- I almost forgot. I was interested in seeing this thing first hand from the beginning to the end with no risks. I wished for the mythic gift of immortality. I hoped that I could wander the universe with a godlike physical form to see everything.
  19.
  20. It didn't work out that way.
  21.
  22. I was given my immortal physical form, but then I was trapped on a small asteroid in space. I finally had my own body made out of stuff. I could move it. I could see the universe from a new and more personal perspective. I could see everything around me with no risk of death. Unlike the others, I still had complete concentrated consciousness. Instead of being vaguely aware of each passing eon and sensing (rather than seeing) the entire universe at once, I saw only what was right in front of me with incredible detail. Every second was a rush of emotions from simply being. It was a wonderful way to live in this new creation, yet I couldn't reach out to any of it. It was infuriating.
  23.
  24. It felt like aeons before my asteroid drew near to another asteroid. Finally! My tiny cosmic island has grown in size. It was not long before this asteroid collided with more and more. The rest is history- your history in fact. I didn't know it at the time, but I was on the asteroid that helped form Earth. I tried to escape as more cold rocks started to bury me alive, but I couldn't climb fast enough. I was suffocating. I couldn't breathe. But then again, I didn't need to. Also, there was no air to breathe anyway. Despite my immortality, I had the fear of a mortal. My unbreakable bones were pinned, so I waited. And waited. And waited.
  25.
  26. I was trapped in molten rock for millions of years with nothing but my thoughts. It drove me insane. My only consolation was that my fear of death was completely vanquished. I learned to control this newfound power of existing and observing the universe from the inside. As I had rocks surrounding me, I had plenty to feel and experience. The problem was that it was indeed very painful. I never knew that being something so amazing could have such a deleterious drawback. The pain was jarring and stinging as it engulfed by nervous system. I focussed and concentrated on this pain, and it felt more like a strong, yet steady, current. As I focussed more and more, I felt my systems being accustomed to my predicament. Eventually, the stream of pain turned into a mellow buzz.
  27.
  28. I was partly astonished with my ability to manipulate my own inside in such a way. I had previously thought that I was only able to consciously control my external systems. I decided to experiment with my other sensors to see how I could manipulate or even enhance them.
