Database dumps

You've seen them all, database dumps on pastebin: a big wall of text including passwords and email adresses.

If not released, a database dump can lead to valuable information, passwords often get reused and alot of sensitive information can get leaked, however, if released on pastebin, everyone within the entity that got hacked will be notified to change their passwords, and the server (which can contain sensitive information too) will get taken down, and the vulnerabilities will get fixed.

This means that as soon as a database gets dumped it will be useless, so use your head and be careful with what you post on pastebin, you could be sitting on a goldmine of sensitive data.
