An American, he came into the Zone with several friends after their service in Afghanistan seeking fortune and fame due to the rumors circulating around the world about the goings on of the Zone. They found themselves in the employ of several Mercenary contractors and worked for over a year collecting documents and finding artifacts for Western benefactors. Over the year his friends have either died or left of their own accord, leaving Blues alone among the Mercenaries. He cannot speak Russian or Ukrainian very well, and his southern drawl only makes things harder for him. After a few months he quit working for them and made a small home for himself in the Bar, where he gained the reputation as a guy who goes out of his way to help others. He helped a group of Loners fight off a Bandit ambush and carried a wounded Stalker over his back from the Garbage all the way to the Bar for treatment. He may not speak the language but he means well. He's always willing to be taken on as a member of a Stalker crew for good honest work. For those that speak English he'll tell them stories of how he made it past the Brain-Scorcher when Strelok opened the way for everyone, and fought his way all the way into Pripyat alongside his fellow Mercenaries; about how he met the legendary Scar in the Red Forest, how he witnessed the collapse of Clear Sky and later still their resurgence. Truly, to those that listen he'll talk their ear off. His only fear is that his time with the Mercenaries may come back to bite him in the ass.
