  1. (18:04:59) BrainDamage: I'm using cyanogen 7.1 and navit works ok from sd card
  2. (18:11:19) tryagain_: Did you use some externat app to move navit to SD card? I consider buying Galaxy Ace and would like to be sure that small internal memory will not make too much sense for me...
  3. (18:11:45) tryagain_: *external
  4. (18:12:09) BrainDamage: it's not a "normal" rom, it's one built by the community which bundles app2sd
  5. (18:12:49) BrainDamage: I'd warn you against phones with low internal mem, my phone has 128MB and I find myself constantly moving apps to sd due to lack of space
  6. (18:13:20) BrainDamage: android itself doesn't help that as soon as it detects "low mem" ( 20 MB free space here YMMV ), it will start discarding sms and updates
  7. (18:14:10) BrainDamage: also, more annoyances include the fact that system apps like google's cannot be moved to sd card, and every update they grow larger and larger ( even by several MB sometimes )
  8. (18:15:50) BrainDamage: oh, and you cannot move any "widget" app to sd if you want the widget functionality to remain
  9. (18:17:04) BrainDamage: and if you run any app at boot that has been moved to sd, it will considerably slow down your boot since it has to wait for sd check to finish before launching, and here ( with cyanogen, don't know with other roms ), it blocks the boot sequence partially ( app scanning for the home )
  10. (18:17:18) BrainDamage: all in all, a lot of annoyances
  11. (18:28:24) tryagain_: ok, thank you, it's quite useful info for me. Do you have 128 Mb at all or 128 Mb availiable for user programs? Samsung publish only user availiable memory on their site, they say I'd have 158Mb...
  12. (18:30:13) BrainDamage: 128MB total
