  1. [15:48] The artificer steps into the shop, shrugging off her cloak and her bow. Another day, another set of projects to undertake. She stops, of course, to reach down and pet the top of the cat's head gingerly as he sleeps.
  2.
  3. "...Oughta' start with another cloak. Been meanin' to finish it," she mutters, pulling tuft of pearly white fur from one of her chests.
  4.
  5. "Had this one on my backlog for a while, so. Sooner I get it done the better. Sorry it won't be real excitin'. Just attachin' this fur to a cloak, honestly."
  6. (Katrin Weiss)
  7. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  8.
  9. [15:51] Thorn waved towards the kitten- Still ever the hibernating bobcat. The man idly follows the Weiss along, he carried forth a resplendent smile. Hands dipped into his pockets as he fidgeted around with the contents of each, the dull sound of a badge and the knocking of a rock.
  10.
  11. "It's still needs an artisans touch. I'm sure, with each piece you make- Even the tiniest threading, it's got.. A piece of you in it. That's what makes it special. Yeah?"
  12. (Thorn Meztin)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [15:54] Her keen ears hear the rattling in his pockets. The sound of stone against metal. There's the faintest twitch of her lips as she pulls up a chair to the work station.
  16.
  17. Rather than taking out her hammer, she takes out a different set of tools entirely.
  18.
  19. Awls, needles, thread, shears and scissors, all wrapped up in a length of leather than she unfurls across the tabletop.
  20.
  21. "You got the idea. Every piece, a lil' of myself in it. You been workin' on anything yourself lately?"
  22. (Katrin Weiss)
  23. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24.
  25. [15:59] The man slipped a hand out to scratch at his chin, shaking his head to and fro- Finding himself a little lost in thought. His eyes pan down towards their set of tools, while his mind cycles through actions he had performed only hours ago. Going through the motions, the methodology that had imprinted upon his very bones.
  26.
  27. "Expansion in Moxtli. Needed to take 'pictures' to see what's available. Planning to add a little tavern, a dock, and a prison before I retire." Although, he snickered to himself, "Soon enough. I'll be free to do whatever."
  28.
  29. He nods slowly, content. "Planning to take my retirement fund back here."
  30. (Thorn Meztin)
  31. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  32.
  33. [16:03] The artificer spreads out a cloak on the vacant tabletop beside her, where her tools and the tuft of fur are not.
  34.
  35. And it's the tuft of fur she starts to treat first. She takes the shears from her tailor's kit, removing any bits that were frayed or damage, cutting it to make it more appealing to the eye. Tet still with a 'wild' appearance to make it fitting for the neck ruff of a sumptuous cloak.
  36.
  37. "That's right...you'd been talkin' about that. You think Lucy's really ready to take over?"
  38.
  39. It was ultimately none of her business, but she was curious.
  40.
  41. Then there's a knock.
  42.
  43. "...Lemme check that."
  44. (Katrin Weiss)
  45. -----
  46.
  47. [16:35] The artificer sits back down at her work station, trimming up the fur in a few more places, shaving it down to the appropriate size and shape.
  48.
  49. Alas, the luxurious pearly white was not this client's style. So under the workstation she reaches for a pot of dark, tar black dye.
  50.
  51. She takes a come and starts to brush it through the ivory fur, dying it freshly dark.
  52.
  53. "You been thinkin' you might want anything made these days? I know you been wantin' to expand Mox. And the shop here. But what 'bout you?"
  54. (Katrin Weiss)
  55. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  56.
  57. [16:38] -Where were they? The man hums as he slips out his blue notebook, beginning to sketch out.. Nothing- Simple little doodles to keep his mind off the inevitable battles to come- Bit by bit, he would eventually have to return to Moxtli.
  58.
  59. "Some armor, maybe." He didn't seem all too worried about it, only an inkling of something grander. "I've got three pieces of arcanium left. I've checked inventory a bunch, been giving what I could get to others." The Meztin shrugs and smiles, "With some blood copper, it'd be best."
  60. (Thorn Meztin)
  61. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  62.
  63. [16:43] The artificer fans a hand over the dye on the fur, allowing it to dry so it's not sticky for further manipulation.
  64.
  65. There were battles to come. She's aware of it, of the dangers ahead. Yet she tries to direct her thoughts to her work- which was one of the few things that could keep her grounded.
  66.
  67. "Armor. I might have some blood copper kickin' around. Or we could try makin' some, y'know." She did have blood. Powerful blood, no less. "Can look into it either way."
  68.
  69. Katrin lays a cloak out on the table beside her, picks up a threaded needle, and starts to stitch the dyed fur into place as a fur ruff about the neck.
  70.
  71. "...You'll be needin' to get ready soon. Right?"
  72. (Katrin Weiss)
  73. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  74.
  75. [16:48] The man nods slowly, the blue notebook being slipped back inside as he begins to carve runes into the air once again. His very hands would gain an ethereal azure shimmering as each rune began to cycle around-
  76.
  77. "I wouldn't want to make you hungry." He smiles a tad, "Don't worry, we'll go through it when I get back from the battle!"
  78.
  79. He takes a step closer, a few steps. He went on his toes to plant a kiss on Katrin's cheek.
  80.
  81. "I should get going. Yknow?"
  82. (Thorn Meztin)
  83. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  84.
  85. [16:49] The cloak was, more or less, completed. Once the fur was dyed it was a simple matter to stitch it into place. An order that was long in coming, finally completed.
  86.
  87. "...Right. I getchya'. Yeah. We can go over it when ya get back."
  88.
  89. There was still that distant sinking feeling of anxiety. Of the potential for loss. He goes on his toes to plant a peck on her cheek.
  90.
  91. She shifts to put it on her lips.
  92.
  93. "G'head. Take care. Alright?"
  94. (Katrin Weiss)
