  1. Electabuzz Electric Type 65 HP / 83 Atk / 57 Def / 95 Sp.Atk / 85 Sp.Def / 105 Spd
  2. Abilties: Static (30% chance of paralyzing a Pokemon making contact with this Pokemon)
  3. Vital Spirit (This Pokemon cannot fall asleep. Gaining this Ability while asleep cures it)
  4.
  5. Electabuzz faces stiff competition from other fast electric types in doubles NU, particularly Zebstrika and Electrode. Although these 2 are faster, Electabuzz is more powerful and has superior coverage. Electabuzz also gets access to Follow Me, making it a powerful threat offensively or a great support Pokemon. Electabuzz struggles against Ground types and the omnipresent Earthquake, however Electabuzz is great at getting revenge KOs, and turning the momentum of the battle in your favour. - KyleCole

  17. So you must be wondering, who in the world would use an electabuzz. Well first off, electivire is banned, so there’s that. Secondly, this thing is a pre-evo but it used to be a fully evolved all by itself. That means it has respectable stats naturally, and its stats get boosted even further by eviolite. Now you’re asking yourself, “finally, there are tons better electric types like stunfisk and rotom-fan, why would you use electabuzz?” well first off i’d call you [names]. second off, those two fake [friendly] electric types don’t get FOLLOW ME. That shit is so strong. Just helpin your team out and shit. like damn [friend]. Also electabuzz and his brother magmar made worlds in vgc last year so you haters can stfu and suck ele's dick. 18. So on to the set specifics. Static is the ability because this electabuzz is a pokemon XD exclusive and you can’t have vital spirit. Max hp and max defense because electabuzz has pitiful physical defense and you are actually supposed to be taking hits. Follow me to redirect hits for the team. Tbolt for damage. twave/electroweb to slow em down. Light screen because you had an extra moveslot.
  19. Partners: this dude loves intimidate to beef up its complete ass physical defense stat. Unfortunately, most of the intimidators are also weak to ground types, so you may have some earthquake issues. Other than that, he is supposed to be the partner. Anything that sets up loves electabuzz. Think shell smashers (torkoal, crustle, etc) or swords dancers (kabutops) or even tail glow phione.

  22. Choice Scarf
  23. Electabuzz @ Choice Scarf
  24. Ability: Vital Spirit
  25. EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
  26. Timid Nature
  27. - Volt Switch
  28. - Thunderbolt
  29. - Hidden Power [Ice]
  30. - Focus Blast
  31.
  32. Choice Scarf Electabuzz not only outspeeds the entire unboosted Doubles NU tier, he also outspeeds many other Scarf users. With the above moveset Electabuzz hits every Pokemon in Doubles NU except Shedinja for at least Neutral Damage. Volt Switch is great for getting momentum against your opponent, or cycling intimidates to weaken your opponents physical attackers - which Electabuzz happens to hate. Using a modest nature is possible on this set, however Timid is preffered as it lets Electabuzz always outspeed Choice Scarf Jynx and Primeape, (and maybe charizard if I put him in the tier, still deciding)
  33. Musharna is an excellent partner for this set, being able to help Electabuzz hit hard with Helping Hand, or being able to switch safely into Earthquakes. Sawk is another good partner that can take care of Piloswine with Close Combat, and other Ground Types with Ice Punch. -KyleCole
  34.
  35. Other Options
  36. Electabuzz gets a couple of neat coverage options, one of which is signal beam which lets Electabuzz hit some threatening Psychic types in Doubles NU for super effective damage like Jynx, Musharna, and Kadabra. It also hits Grass types harder than HP ice so it can be worth considering. Another option is Psychic, which helps Electabuzz deal with powerful fighting types like Sawk, Throh, Primeape, and Gurdurr. It also lets Electabuzz better deal with Muk and Weezing. Muk expecially is generally a decent Electabuzz check. A physical set would be an option given that Electabuzz has Wild Charge and decent coverage moves available, but Electabuzz has a low Attack stat and would also forfeit Volt Switch.

  38. Checks & Counters
  39. Haters: Electabuzz hates ground types. They are physical, and electabuzz cannot touch them. S/O to piloswine for being a punk with eviolite and thick fat. Pilowsine pushes electabuzz’s shit in even if you run ice or fire punch.

  43. ...(‘follow me’)

  45.
  46. One of the best examples of a ground type that deals well with Electabuzz is Camerupt. Camerupt can take any hit Electabuzz has and hit back with Earthquake. Gurdurr is another cool check that can gengerall tank any hit (barring psychic) and recover the health back with Drain Punch, then KO with Mach Punch. Physical Priority moves in general from Pokemon like Kangaskhan and Gurdurr are solid answers to offensive Electabuzz who cannot take physical hits. Opposing Electric types like Eelektross can tank a hit from Electabuzz and fire back with coverage moves like Flamethrower. -KyleCole
