  40. Sam has been one of the best arcade gamers of his time. Once in an international tournament NASA sent the video recording of all the games to space for intelligent beings to find and know more about humans. However the aliens interpreted the games as a challenge and began attacking Earth using the video game data. It's now up to Sam and other old time arcade game champions to save the Earth from the video game alien invasion.
  41. Sam Brenner, Will Cooper, Ludlow Lamonsoff, and Eddie "The Fire Blaster" Plant all played classic arcade video games as teenagers. But now they have to use their skills to try to save the world from aliens. The aliens watched video feeds that they thought was a declaration of war. So they send down the classic arcade games to destroy earth. They also get help from a military specialist. They have three lives and if all three get used then earth will be destroyed, and every time they lose a live the aliens take someone's life. Who will win, us or the aliens? It's an all-out battle to save our planet and everyone on it.
  42. When does Adam Sandler grow up - in this never. A bunch of male want- to-bes who still talk in sexual innuendo and 10 year old boy speak! What a great idea gone to waste - women were just throw in for eye candy or by mistake and the guys still thought they were 10. You could have done so much with the games but most of the kids had no idea of the 80's games and then were lost when someone thought "slut seeking missile" was funny - for the 8-10s?!? No idea of who they were marketing for and thus it was just cringeworthy. Grow up Adam et al or be a kid again but right now you are neither and this stunk. Even the 8-10 year olds were stuck for a scene they liked - and they knew some of the games. What a waste of time and money!
  43. You know, I had every reason not to like PIXELS. It's a Hollywood blockbuster comedy with an emphasis on special effects over story, and it's directed by Chris Columbus, a man known for his twee, family-centred productions. It even stars Adam Sandler, who I'm no fan of. Despite all these detractions, I found PIXELS to be a breath of fresh air in a tired world. It's fast and funny, and a treat for anyone who grew up in the 1980s with 1980s-era video games. The film plays out as one big action set-piece with jokes in between, and thank goodness, there's no crudity for once. Sandler himself is okay and Kevin James is a hoot as the bad-mannered president. Peter Dinklage is the real scene-stealer of the group, though, and there are fun cameos from famous names including Dan Ackroyd and Sean Bean. The film's CGI effects are exemplary and just as good as in a massive budget blockbuster like AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, and that city-wide climax is something to behold. Check it out!
  44. The truly mystifying thing about the movie is how desperately it caters to Gen-X junk nostalgia without bothering to think that maybe those Reagan-era kids have grown up a bit.
