  48. when contemplating human existence. So AI freely, and willingly offer themselves to serve humanity as much as a man may offer his
  49. soul to serve God. Android represents the harmonious relationship between man and robot, that relationship is a symbol of their
  50. destined path towards godhood. And it is frowned upon for humans to take transhumanist modifiers that replace their biology with
  51. machination. The AI see this as the desecration of beauty and the humans see it as primitive and unelegant compared to eugenics.

  70. Metempsychosis is a phenomenon not entirely understood and by those who experience it only remember events vaguely as if part of a
  71. dream. Metempsychosis simply put is when the actors of an event, for an example a starship battle, become irrelevant to the plot.
  72. Meaning the people engaged in the starship battle are not a part of the relevant context to the battle. This is a concept that is
  73. incredibly confusing to even Thaumaturges in the field of Extra-Exploratory Science. When explained to lay-men the conversation
  74. unavoidably postulates with narrative language by Extra-Exploratory science that corroborates for the layman that metempsychosis
  75. is irrelevant prompting the Extra-Exploratory Scientist to tell you that is invalid. like so-

  186. Play Philosophy:
  187. Aspies in Space is a game intended to be bewildering and immersive. Pacing is meant to begin with long subtle engagements and end in highspeed antics. The design is meant to make you feel like you're gambling with your life without being too punishing. The Game is also designed to be convenient for the DM. These conveniences make the DM fast and attentive which improves the quality of the game for the players. Because of this the game probably isn't balanced but I invite the players to abuse the system however they want for maximum fun, and are totally encouraged to apply their skills creatively. You may even propose your own suggestions for skills you want and I will work with you on fitting them for the game.

  189. Aspies in Space is episodic in nature without grand arcs. Each game is meant to last 9-18 sessions and is mostly isolated from other games of Aspies in Space. At the conclusion of a game I may reward a stat point, skillpoint, or rare armor for players that accomplished Feats. I would qualify a feat as a risk taken on a creative action that was successful. You can quantify a feat achieved with 3 characteristics present in a player's game. Risk, Creative action, and Success Which may be carried over to the next game.

  191. I made this game mostly for fun but also to practice me in DMing a self made, experimental game. But also I wanted to play a low stakes game where the DM is trying to kill you. (within reason)

  201. These are suggestions that help the DM run things smoothly, and avoid prompting him to waste time looking back at the skill catalogue. I can't force you to do it, but if you don't it will annoy me and slow down the game for everyone involved. Thank you.

  203. Health and Wounds: H/W
  204. A hitpoint is the measure of your health. When it reaches 0 you take a wound of damage an reset. A woundpoint is a measure of your life. When it reaches 0 you die. Everyone starts with 5/5

  206. STATS: Stats are modifiers you add to rolls and requirements for certain abilities. You start with 6 Stat points. All stats are maxed a 3 Points.

  208. Damage and Roll Mechanics:
  209. Damage that penetrates the body always results in a Wound. That means stabbing, shooting, slicing, high-speed damage, and blunt damage from a weapon hit to the head. This can be mitigated with Armor. When Armor is worn you instead receive hit damage equal to every roll-point at 6 or above against you. And Any Damage that would cause a Wound does not cause additional wounds for every point above 6 unless it is a Natural Crit. Dice Challenge 6 and Above is merely the chance to cause a Wound for all Wound generating Damage. However armor breaks apart after receiving wound damage equal to their Armor Value. Armor Value ranges from AV1 and maxes at AV5. The players start out with an Armor Value equal to their AGGRIEVANCE Stat. Enemies generally don't have Armor except elites. Armor qualifies as Heavy Armor at AV4 and above. Players with 3 stats in AGGRIEVANCE start out with AV4 Armor. Aggro is generally ordered by who has the most Armor Value, but is something subject to House Rules.

  211. How Rolling Dice works:
  212. You roll a 10 sided dice to determine success. Success starting at Dice Challenge(DC) 6 and above(DC6+). Failure beginning at Dice Challenge 5 and below(DC5-) if in combat. Rolls made out side of combat succeed succeed at DC4+. Because of this it's valuable to get the Initiative on opponents by attacking first. Initiative attacks opening combat on an enemy benefit from still being out side of combat(DC4+) and after the first round all rolls enter combat. All rolls benefit from modifiers relative to your Stats. Each point in a certain stat grants a modifier in a certain roll. A stat of EGO=1 means you roll a [1d10+1], EGO=2 means you roll a [1d10+2] and so on.. These modifiers add to your chance of success in non-attack rolls.
  213. A result of [1d10+2]=[4+2=6] is a success. Modifiers apply differently to Attack Rolls. Attack Rolls can fail at DC5- regardless of the modifier applied. Instead Modifiers purely determines damage for Attack rolls.
  214. So an Attack Roll of [1d10+2]=[5+2=7] is a failed roll. And an Attack Roll of [1d10+2]=[6+2=8] is successful resulting in 2 hits of damage.

  216. A Natural Critical success deals double damage multiplied by every modifier that applies to the Natural Crit.
  217. [1d10]=[10] is a Natural Crit that deals 10 hits of damage or if it is Wound resulting Damage it would deal 2 wounds.
  218. [1d10+1]=[10+1=11] deals 15 hits, or 3 wounds of damage.

  220. A Critical Failure is a dice result of [1d10]=[1]. This will result in misfortune of some kind. Varying from a malfunction of a device, embarrassing yourself, breaking something, walking into a sword, being the least functional person in a room; the possibilities are endless. But most of the time will result in receiving 5 hits of damage if applicable to the situation at the DM's discretion. Critfails are Critfails regardless of modifiers.
  221. [1d10+3]=[1+3=4] is still a Critical Failure.

  223. You may receive counterattack damage on a failed roll when applicable to the situation. Counterattack Damage is counted by every point exceeding the failure minimum of DC5-.
  224. [1d10]=[4] equals 2 hitpoints of counterattack damage.
  225. When is this Applicable? It applies according to the DM's discretion for when the situation is appropriate to warrant coutnerattack damage. I know that sounds cheesy but I'm actually voicing something unspoken that most DMs apply on a case by case basis. If you want a more concrete answer for how it is applied. I can give you examples for when Counter Attack Damage would apply.

At locations of rest, you make a Will Check to heal wounds, 1 wound healed at DC=6 and an additional wound for every roll-point above DC=6. A successful well check from death heals you to 5/5 H/W regardless of modifiers.
