Tankiejerk 10/9 Incident Jack response

Since the others have forced me into a position to make a public statement I will.
For the past **three years** I’ve been building up this server, investing time and energy into making it as good as possible. And there’ve always been ups and downs on the server. And it never really bothered me that I was essentially the only one doing any and all moderation, channel structure, listening to feedback and for the largest part implementing it. After my departure from reddit Wilson was so nice to do the vetting process. I’ve always made sure to be grateful for that and to help iron out possible mistakes instead of complaining about them because mistakes happen.
While the others remained more passive I didn’t really complain because we all have our lives. However in the recent 10 – 12 months the tides have changed. While I had been doing the moderating and the others didn’t it quickly started that Ran specifically would always give me shit for every little decision. I made it clear that I won’t be talked down on. I’m expecting to be talked to like any other person and not some fantasised villain. Constant harassment for any modding decision was the norm. I’ve tried solving it through dialogue. Every time Ran and later others would swear they’d do better. It never happened.
After I was recently once again insulted for actually taking care of this server I stopped acting nice out of self respect and made it very clear that I won’t be insulted like that for no reason at all. After once again making my personal boundaries quite clear the reaction wasn’t an apology or even just moving on but a phony “apology” in a public channel and then complaining about my reaction and expecting an apology from me in the private modding channel. MK and Wilson joined in on the fun of insulting me. Which was the moment I decided to step away from the modding team. I told them to leave me alone and stopped engaging.
Then they not only didn’t do any further moderation but decided to actively undo my modding decisions. It annoyed me but I decided to move on. Then they wanted to let in a user who had an obvious burner account. No activity with only one karma. They also went back on their word about chicken girl. She had been breaking the server rules for months and while I had known her for a couple of years I wasn’t willing to let nepotism influence modding decisions. So despite the other mods not doing any moderating I still decided to talk to them after talking to Meryl had failed the last ~15 times. They vehemently were against any and all modding decisions such as deleting the posts which violated the rules. Or giving her a time out for her actions or even finally removing her from the server after having told her to stop countless times (I won’t go into detail here because this isn’t about Meryl). So early September I finally got the mods to agree to giving her consequences for her actions. The consensus was to give her a 7 day time out as her final warning. We had agreed upon the fact that any further even tiny violating of the rules would get her banned. When it came down to Meryl doing the same shit like she had been doing before the time out the others chickend out (pun not intended but very welcome). After that happened I decided I couldn’t trust the other moderators to take care of the server. Despite my personal dislike I had previously thought these people cared about the server and its integrity. I was wrong. They didn’t. This was the moment I removed their admin permissions (and honestly most of them didn’t even notice until today, goes to show how much modding they’re doing)
Generally there are two philosophies when it comes to discord servers and their security:
1. No vetting but trouble makers get banned. This is the philosophy most servers have. It is not the philosophy this server has. Not the philosophy I have.
2. Strong vetting and trying to solve conflicts on the server with words. That is this server’s philosophy. This is my philosophy. But I’m not beyond making use of the mod tools if necessary.

You don’t have to trust me, believe me or even respect me. That is completely your decision and I won’t be mad if you don’t. It is my word against the words of the others who have been sticking together. Good for them. But I’m sick and tired of needing to justify taking care of this server and I’m sick and tired of being insulted and treated like some sort of second class person.
And no I will not be open for discussing with the “moderators” because I’ve been doing that the past year and it didn’t work.


P.S.: I’d like to mention Reyna and finalmadfox doing their respective tasks (server events and event polls) quite well and I don’t want to make it seem like you’ve not been doing any of your tasks it’s just not what this is about. But I appreciate it nonetheless.
Also I want to add how I find it really funny that a group of 6+ people are putting themselves in the victim position while ganging up on one guy. Not asking for sympathies, just wanting to point out the hypocrisy. They're complaining about having been removing admin rights (which discord says should only be given out to people you trust) after they've not needed them for the most part for the last few months.
But yes if it helps you to imagine me as some sort of power hungry Stalinist who's just been waiting to seize power (of a server I've been the owner of for three years) then be my guest but don't be ridiculous about it.
