Aida blocked two more blaster bolts before pulling the weapons out of the hands of the Path men. But in her effort to fling them far away, she was slightly off balance. A Path woman came up behind her, bashing the back of her knee with a club. Aida fell, and saw a knife in the woman's fist thrusting toward her chest. Aida blocked the thrust by holding the woman's wrists, her lightsaber still in her hand between their faces.
"Abomination!" the woman hissed at Aida, spitting on her.
She looked at the woman, who was struggling to push the knife closer to Aida's body. Aida gathered her strength and twisted out of the way, letting the woman's momentum cause her to fall forward. The woman's knife embedded deeply into the dirt. She yanked uselessly at the hilt, and Aida struck her over the head with the butt of her light-saber. The woman lay unconscious.
