- I know it's confusing because Rooster Teeth basically stated in a WoR that aura is a "Passive Defence that works like a force field", but they ret-conned that in V5 by having Ozpin contradict it and explain that aura can only block attacks it sees coming, and that the wielder has to focus on it. It was Jaune's focus that wavered in the fight against Tyrian last chapter, specifically because he got lost in his thoughts and stopped paying attention.

- Aura is a shield, yes, but I don't think it is impervious. In the show we see that Jaune bruises, and if aura could prevent insect stings – then why would Cardin's plan have ever been an issue in the first place?
- Pyrrha would have stood there and gone. "Oh no, not rapier wasps… argh… the pain. Yawn."
- We also see from chibis (though yes it isn't canon) that Rooster Teeth considers a broken leg due to tripping a possibility. I only mention this because I can guarantee you, someone would comment on how this is impossible because aura would have protected him from harm.

- Killing Cinder removes Cinder as a threat but does nothing else. Taking her prisoner also removed her as a threat, with the added benefit (if possible) of being able to both interrogate her for information and use the same machine from canon to complete the process and put the maiden's power in Pyrrha.
