  1. RE4R
  2.
  3. - Parrying is just kinda a pointless addition. It fills a void in the combat that they purposely added themselves, which is the inconsistent hitstun. Also exists because they gave Ganados an annoying push mechanic, which I believe is directly to counter the OG tech of baiting attacks from enemies. The push is too quick to dodge if it comes out and you commit, and leads to a hit unless you parry. IMO I would've rather just had the shooting feel strong and good than this ever exist.

  5. - The Knife being breakable directly leads to a lot of ammo scarcity issues, and more potential softlocks than the OG game. Now, the OG did have some, but here they're far more plentiful. In OG, the general loop was shoot > melee > knife, and because your knife was infinite it could be done reliably throughout the game. Meanwhile here, doing this directly leads to your knife breaking, meaning eventually it going to lead to you having to expend more ammo than desired. The game does not really compensate well for this fact, there is seemingly no ammo drop balancing whatsoever here, despite the fact you cannot fall back onto the knife a lot here like you could in the OG.
  6.
  7. - Ashley is just kinda pointless here. If anything, her being grabbed is a power position because it directly leads to you being able to insta-kill the Ganado that did if you have a knife. Meaning, in the long run it is better to purposely let her get grabbed at every opportunity.

  9. - The aiming is silly and only adds to create artificial difficulty to a game that kind of already has its pants down in that regard. The game is built to be fast, with a lot of enemies rushing you.... but if you try to be quick with your shots outside of the rifles or red dot sight the awful bloom will continuously make you miss shots a lot. Needless addition and in my opinion it should be patched out.
  10. - The movement feels sluggish and floaty. This has been a problem since the RE Engines creation. This isn't RE7, 8, 2R or 3R... it is a game with a lot of fast enemies at almost all times and demands precise movement and being agile. Yet Leon is so animation heavy and delayed in his movements that the game doesn't feel good.
  11. - Hit detection on a lot of things is poor sometimes. I've had a lot of times where the knife prompt just hasn't shown up for me or Leon's just swung his knife instead.
  12.
  13. Stabbing Garradors in the back being a good example. I kept running into a problem where the prompt to knife the parasite just wouldn't appear, despite them standing still and me standing directly being them in range of the parasite.
  14.
  15. - No Separate Ways presumably besides paid dlc. People like to parrot the "but separate ways wasn't in the original RE4 so this makes sense", completely forgetting the original also has no Wesker in the main story. If you're going by that logic, Wesker shouldn't be involved or seen in the main campaign, either.
