  1. It was another boring, yet hot, Summer school day in Meadowpeak High.  I was in the 7th period, which was science for me and one of my friends, Jay. I’ve known Jay since 2nd grade, he’s an amazing friend! He’s like a brother to me. Our class just got done doing an assignment about cell structure.
  2.
  3. "Alright, class! Turn your assignments in quickly, the bell is about to ring.” Mr. Allyson announced as he stood from his chair. Most of the kids got up and turned in their assignments to him. I quickly put my name on it and turned it in to him.
  4.
  5. This may sound like a normal school day experience, but trust me... It’s not. This woman was so... Terrifying. This is my story of how I almost died.
  6.
  7. Jay and I were walking to our last class of the day, math. As we came into the room, Ms. Goldensoth came out of the room, saying hi to us and asking how we were. We told her we’re doing good. After we were done with our short conversation, we went inside the classroom. I walked to my seat, which was a seat by the window for me in the first row of the seats, and Jay sat behind me in the second row. Once we got out our math supplies, we put our backpack straps on the seats we were in. I didn’t know the kid next to me, but I talked to him sometimes. Another one of my best friends, Layla, sat next to Jay.
  8.
  9. “Hey Makaila!” Jay said to me. I turned around to face him and Layla. “Yeah?” I asked.
  10.
  11. “Have you ever heard of Soul Eater Sally?” He asked with a little suspense in his voice.
  12.
  13. “Soul Eater Sally? No... That sounds like a foolish name. Sounds a bit stupid if you ask me.” Jay and Layla’s jaws dropped from what I said. In their eyes I saw fear, no not fear... Aghast. That’s what I saw.
  14.
  15. “You’re joking... Right?” Layla said weakly. I was speechless... Was I too harsh on them? Was it a family member of theirs?! Fear and confusion raced through my head like a tornado, sucking up the happiness that was left in me.
  16.
  17. “Wh-Who is she?” I managed to say, choking up my words.
  18.
  19. “Don’t worry, no need to feel guilty and petrified. Not everybody knows about her.” Jay replied.
  20.
  21. The bell rang, and it only took a couple of minutes for Ms. Goldensoth to come back into the room. After she was done teaching us about linear equations, she handed us our sheets of work. Thankfully, I was done before the bell rang. Lots of people were done, including Jay, Layla, and Phoenix, another one of my friends. All three of them got up and walked over to the empty desks in front of me. The question was roaming in my head about Soul Eater Sally... Who is she?
  22.
  23. “So, Jay... Tell me more about-” Suddenly, we heard a blood-curdling scream of a woman. The whole class went silent, and my heart started to race. Did somebody just get killed? Is there a killer in the school? As the unknown person was screaming, the lights began to flicker. Ms. Goldensoth got up and opened the door slowly, checking to see if somebody was in the hallway. Nobody was there. Once she sat back down, one of my classmates asked who it was. Ms. Goldensoth said she didn’t know and that we could talk for the last 5 minutes. Whispering arose in the class again as Ms. Goldensoth called the main office. We were all in awe about what just happened...
  24.
  25. I looked at Jay, he looked like he was doing some hard thinking. Layla and Phoenix just stood there frozen. I did too, I didn’t know what the heck just happened! Nobody did!
  26.
  27. “You can’t hide, Sally. We’re coming for you after school.” Jay finally said. Layla whipped her head towards him, looking surprised. Layla and Phoenix were still out of it. I was so confused about how to feel... Should I go with him?
  28.
  29. “Sure, sure we will. This will be so exciting.” Layla replied sarcastically.
  30.
  31. “Hey! She’s real, I’m telling ya! Are you gonna come with us, Makaila?” I didn’t know what to say. If I said no, I would be considered weak. If I said yes, I would be considered brave and strong... I made my choice and said that I’m going with him. Layla said that she’ll go too, for some reason sounding a bit excited. I thought nothing of it though. Ms. Goldensoth hung up and said she needed to make an announcement. The whole class went into a hush as she spoke, she had so much anxiety in her eyes... She said that the person who screamed was close to the school and that it’s recommended to walk home with someone else unless you’re being driven home. After her announcement, the bell rang. Everybody but me and my other 3 friends got up slowly and walked out of the classroom, full of chatter. Layla informed us that she took a picture of the info about Sally from a book in the library this morning on her phone. Suddenly, Jay froze and looked at Layla.
  32.
  33. “Maybe you’re Sally, Layla... Your green hair, green eyes...” Jay muttered. Layla questioned what he said, and when she did, he grabbed her arm and looked her in the eye repeating what he said but louder. Ms. Goldensoth told him to let go of her, but as he did,I saw a pair of green eyes looking at me in the window from the corner of my eye.
  34.
  35. “Uh... Guys?! Look!” I pointed. When they looked, the eyes were gone. Jay told me I must’ve hallucinated. I exclaimed to them that I saw a pair of two green eyes, I wasn’t crazy!! Ms. Goldensoth assured us that we just needed to get some rest. We walked out of the room, silent. After a little bit of silence, Layla pulled out her phone, looking for the image she took of the information about Sally. By the time we were outside, I suddenly had a feeling someone was behind me. I started to panic, and when I looked behind myself, I saw a tall woman! She looked like she was about 6’5, and she looked at me, smiling with demonic sharp teeth. I screamed, and once I did, it caught Layla and Jay’s attention.
  36.
  37. “Oh my gosh, what now?” Jay asked with harshness in his voice. How could they not see the person behind me?! I saw Layla giggle a little bit, which made me feel like she was pulling a prank on us. I asked her why she was laughing, and she said that she was laughing because of a funny thing she saw this morning. I believed her, even though deep inside I knew she was lying. We continued to walk, and as we did, Jay asked Layla to pull out her phone and see if the info about Sally told us where she could be seen at. She pulled out her phone, showing us the image.
  38.
  39. “Jewel Mint Chalice, otherwise known as Soul Eater Sally, is a kind and gentle, but bloodthirsty killer. She stands at 6’4 and was born on September 22nd, 1995, and died in 2004 with an unknown day, month, and time. She was stabbed at the age of 9 by her brother, Jack. He was peer pressured into doing it by 9 other kids that were with them at the time. Thankfully, she was resurrected into her current form by a girl named Maketa. When Sally was resurrected, she was named Sally instead of Jewel. Beware that if she’s not out by grassy areas and abandoned places where she’s usually at, it doesn’t mean you’re alone. She has an unknown count of siblings, but the names of some are Autumn, Jack, Grimsby, and more. Married to a loving husband, she has three kids. Monika, Link, and August! They can go into disguise and pretend to be normal kids, as well as age up so they can lure lots of victim in. They don’t always though! They can take shape as their normal form too. Monika’s actual age is 5, August’s age is unknown, and Link’s is 4. Sally is seen with very dark green hair of any length, black eyes, black streaks down her eyes, and pink eyelids. Her outfit varies, but most of the time she'll wear a blue and pink sheath dress with an opening in middle, showing that underneath the dress she wears ripped up jeans that go to her knees. She'll also wear black boots that come up to half of her thighs. The dress has short sleeves and reveals her shoulders.” Layla read aloud. We headed down the steep, grassy hill and as we did, we heard someone crying. Jay put his hand in his pocket for a few seconds to pull out a pocket knife ready to stab Sally. As the woman was crying, we could hear her make out the name ‘Monika’. Has Monika been killed? Did someone take Monika from Sally? The questions fogged my mind again.
  40.
  41. “Who’s there? Why are you crying?!” Jay questioned, as we approached the abandoned house. The crying became closer and closer once we walked towards the house, which only meant one thing. She was in there. The crying soon morphed into maniacal laughter, scaring the living heck out of me!
  42.
  43. “Come here, Layla sweetie! Mommy wants to talk to you...” The mysterious woman said. We couldn’t see her, so that made it doubly dangerous. Layla followed the girl’s orders, and slowly approached the dusty, old mini house. She went inside, and we couldn’t see her through the dusty windows. Jay’s eye twitched, and couldn’t take it anymore. He kicked down the door with one hard kick, and screamed, “WHERE’S LAYLA?!” I stepped away from the house, about 4 feet but as I did, I bumped into someone... Fear filled my body. I wanted to scream so badly, but I didn’t want to get killed!
  44.
  45. “J-Jay...” I whispered weakly. He turned around, and shock filled his body. He froze, looking at the person behind me. I began to shake and didn’t look behind me. I felt cold tears streaming my face, my chin trembling. Jay warned the person behind me to not touch me, but she didn’t listen to his warning. She put her hands on my shoulders and I couldn’t help but let out a scream. As I did that, she put her hand on my mouth.
  46.
  47. “Shh... It’s okay. I’ll set you free very soon.” Once she let go of me, I looked behind me. My jaw dropped, beginning to cry even more. She smiled at me with her demonic sharp teeth. Her ear to ear sinister smile gave me goosebumps... I was speechless, especially since Layla was right next to the mysterious woman. It then hit me that the woman... Was Soul Eater Sally. She asked us what we were doing, and as I was about to speak, Jay spoke.
  48.
  49. “None of your business, you bag of filthy lies! I bet your children wish they were adopted!!” Jay yelled. Sally’s smile turned into a frown. She stood in front of Layla for a couple of minutes, snarling at Jay. She stood by Layla, and asked the same question again but in a more serious tone. My eyes widened and my jaw dropped once more. No way... My best friend is... Monika?! One of the daughters of Sally? Tears welled up in my eyes again. I stared at Monika, taking a long walk down memory lane, thinking of the fun times I had with her. Those memories were just lies now. I snapped back to reality and watched what was going on with Jay and Sally. Jay answered the question with the same reply Sally had given us but in a more aggressive manner. He rose his pocket knife up at her, saying that if she didn’t give Layla back to us, he would stab her in a very gruesome way. Sally just chuckled and told him to take a look at her. He did and soon saw what I saw. Her name wasn’t Layla... It was Monika. He put his arm down slowly, dropping the pocket knife. He kept denying it to himself that what his reality now wasn’t true. He stared at Monika as well, almost on the verge of crying. As I was walking over to him, Sally walked over to Jay, putting her hand on his shoulder. I stopped in my tracks. He picked up the pocket knife, and held it against her throat, tears streaming down his cheeks. In response, Sally just giggled. She snapped her fingers, and suddenly Jay’s tears became blood. He began to scream in agony, dropping the knife. I was in awe watching what was happening in my very eyes... Sally walked over to me, asking me the same question. I told her that Jay wanted to see her in action and that I and Monika wanted to come with him.
  50.
  51. “Very well, then... I’ll spare you for now. Just remember that I’ll free you sooner or later.” She said in a stern tone. She walked back over to Jay, snapping her fingers once again. The bloody tears began normal, human tears. He was laying on the floor, panting and sobbing.
  52.
  53. “Don’t worry. I’ll free your soul.” She said in a warm voice. A few seconds later, her jaw looked unhinged and frantic. Her mouth dropped down to her breasts, showing the sharp, demonic teeth she has and her eyes turned pitch black, with black streaks running down from them. Without any hesitation, she bit off and spit out the top part of his head where his hair was. His brown, poofy hair was torn off of his head in a gruesome manner. Blood stained the grass red, with bits of his bone and flesh just sitting on the ground. Nothing but blood was running down his face... He let out the loudest scream he could. Somehow, no one heard him. My limbs froze and I couldn’t move. Tears were pouring down my face like a waterfall, witnessing my friend’s death in front of my eyes. I checked my phone, there were tons of unread messages and calls from my mom. Shoot... I’m dead now! I put my phone back into my pocket, continuing to witness Sally murdering Jay. With one tremendous bite, his head was detached from his body. Blood spread everywhere, staining the grass bright red. Underneath Sally and Jay was a big puddle of blood. It reeked! I began feeling light-headed and my vision was going blurry. After she dropped Jay’s dead body, I saw a big orb of light in her hands. In front of my very eyes, I saw the orb of light disappear in her hands as she crushed it brutally. My hearing was fuzzy... All I remember from that day after seeing Jay die was Sally’s words after killing him...
  54.
  55. “Stay with me, dear soul.” After those words, I collapsed onto the ground.
  56.
  57. The next morning, I found myself lying in a hospital bed.  I was so confused on where I was... My mom saw me and gave me a big hug, saying she was super happy seeing me alive. She also began to stroke my short, dark brown hair. I asked what happened, and she said that I collapsed on the ground yesterday by a gruesome, bloody body. She continued on to say that I had to wear my hospital nightgown with nothing underneath it because my original clothes were stained with blood. It then hit me. We were trying to find Soul Eater Sally, but failed miserably! After a few seconds, I sat up apologizing for what I was gone for. She was confused, so I told her what happened. At first, she didn’t believe me but then she remembered about the cases dealing with Sally years ago. She burst into tears, hugging me again.
  58.
  59. A few days later, I recovered from the injuries I had. My head was bleeding badly, but I got stitches and feel way better now. I was diagnosed with depression the day after
  60. the incident happened. Thankfully nobody noticed how I was feeling until I got to math. Ms. Goldensoth noticed I was depressed and asking why I was gone.
  61.
  62. “I was gone because yesterday after school we went to see Soul Eater Sally... We succeeded in seeing her but we all got really hurt, except for Phoenix. I had to get stitches on my head... We also found out that Layla is actually Monika, one of the daughters of Soul Eater Sally.” I replied in a low, depressed tone. Ms. Goldensoth had a look on her face of both worry and disappointment. After that, she asked where Jay was. I looked at Phoenix, then at the floor, trying to keep my tears in. A few seconds of doing that, I looked back up with tears in my eyes. I gave her a simple and honest answer.
  63.
  64. “He’s dead.”
