  1. Note, Before I begin, I enjoy the game and want it to succeed, however, it does some things that I don't think are acceptable for a PC game released in the current day!
  2. I'm hopeful that IF can patch at least a couple of these things in the future. These are my impressions after playing for an hour or two.
  3.
  4. The battles do feel kind of fun and satisfying, but I feel like a lot more could be done with this, it's a fun game that has a few jagged edges left
  5. Issues are (Kinda) sorted by my personal perception of how severe they are
  6.
  7.
  8. - HELLA bad screen tearing, how is it this bad?!?! I'm running a 1080ti and holding a steady 60 fps! Don't tell me, VSYNC is forced on :/
  9.
  10. - No context sensitive control display for keyboard/mouse controls! I'm left to guess or check the options menu every time I need to check controls!
  11.
  12. - Disparagingly few graphics options for PC!
  13.
  14. - The maps manage to feel REALLY small, which is honestly a real feat considering they're mostly just open water, I don't know why they had to be this tiny, hell you could probably make them LOOP and I wouldn't notice if the stage is all water!
  15. Like, no terrain? None at all?
  16.
  17. - Not all the controls are listed correctly even in the options menu (Read: Camera movement being tied to the mouse, firing my main cannons and torpedoes is LMB/RMB respectively, these are some of the many unlisted, unconfigurable controls)
  18.
  19. - Sometimes the camera kind of... janks, while I'm in a battle, it's really jarring and annoying, I'm not sure if it's an attempt at camera shake induced by explosions, but it only succeeds in making me ill
  20.
  21. - It feels really weird and unsatisfying that the battle abruptly ends when you "Win", leaving tons of enemies behind!
  22.
  23. - More subtitles! As somebody with hearing impairment (And a complete inability to understand spoken Japanese!) I would like to know what the ships are saying when skating around the world map.
  24.
  25. - In the world map, I find it a little strange and inconsistent that you can move over land involved in the story line, and only land involved in the storyline
  26.
  27. - Can I switch the Kansen I control? as it turns out, yes. but I had no ****ing idea, the game certainly didn't tell me, I figured out that it's bound to scroll wheel about 40 minutes in by complete accident
  28.
  29. - I didn't know that the green event markers would disappear if I advanced the story :(
  30.
  31. - PLEASE rethink the default key binding for PC, the way that makes the most sense to play if you're used to PC games is one hand situated over WASD for movement of your character and the mouse for aiming, UIOP for a bunch of the controls doesn't make a huge amount of sense.
  32. I found a far more functional setup than L for my lock on attack and O for my skill for example, is E for the former and Q for the latter, so I'm not reaching across the keyboard, immobilized to use the skill
  33.
  34. - Why does Prinz have 8-bit gamer glasses?
  35.
  36. - I'm not really clear why I've been switching between Suruga and Shimakaze on the world map, man now that I think about it, I wish this game just had an overworld since they went through the trouble of 3d modeling all the characters
  37.
  38. - Unless I'm missing something, I've failed to identify any way to inspect characters before purchasing them, which is annoying as I can only guess what I'm going to get
  39.
  40. - The game is not challenging, period. Most of your weapons, have tracking, most of the enemies aren't very good shots, even on hard I easily achieved an S rank on every battle so far, want to see what I mean?
  41. I soloed the first battle with Takao, she was almost a threat with me literally only equipping one out of six total fleet units (Akashi makes you functionally immortal unless you're TRYING to die btw, and you can basically ignore planes as many of your characters seem to have autonomous AA guns, all you need to do is keep moving)
  42. - I got an A and not an S on the last battle of chapter 2 and found there's no way of going back to retry earlier battles under certain circumstances if you aren't satisfied with your score :/
  43.
  44. There is literally nothing stopping me from just using my ultimate/lock-on attack, swapping character, repeat until everything is KO'd Hell a lot of battles that's what I have to do, in order to clear in under 120 seconds.
  45.
  46.
  47.
  48. - Apparently you can upgrade your ship girls, I haven't figured out how exactly equipping or the shop works, I seem to do fine anyways...
  49.
  50. - I feel like games like this could benefit from expressing more of their story in gameplay, in GTA V I don't mind the talking between the characters because it's typically going on in the background while you drive to an objective for example, in "Hybrid VN" games, the VN part outstays its welcome (That's just a personal hangup on my part and nothing wrong with the game though)
  51.
  52.
  53. If this game didn't have cute boat girls, I'd be worried about how much it _did_ have going for it if I'm honestly. So far there hasn't been a problem I can't solve by just skating up to a powerful enemy and dumping my ultimate attack/lock on attack into it
  54.
  55. As an aside, I'm amused by the fact that this game has FIFTY save slots. Why so many? at that point you might as well just open it up to let me have an unlimited number if you're gonna go above and beyond the typical "four or so" most games settle on :p
