Phase Shift Zero: A Requiem for a Dream - CH1

CHapter One - The Arrival

The AMF-01 Avalon was traveling space as The command controls beeped. "Unidentified mech 20 meters away." It said as a woman commanded visuals. On the screen came the mech. "Hm... Send out our prototype." She said as in one of the break rooms a young girl smiled playing on her 3DS before a voice came online.

"Caladessi to the docking bay." It said as she squeed and set her game aside, her tail wagging before running. She was a black and white Portuguese water dog as she got suited up in a white and red body suit and helmet before climbing into an all white humanoid mech as it beeped online and lit up. She was lean with an athletic build as she got herself ready for launch, a voice came through the com device. "Triad this is command, we found an unknown mech and we want you to scout it out, our systems are armed should it be a trap." a female voice came in.

"Aye! Systems green and ready to launch!" She said excited as they locked her in and then launched her out as she propelled herself with her thrusters. Approaching the mech she slowed and drifted slowly as she looked on her radar screen and did a sweep. "No enemies on radar, proceeding." She said as she stopped in front of the mech.

The mech seemed alright except for some minor damages here and there but a very obvious major damage on the cockpit located on the chest where it seem dented and torn open and exposed the inside and the pilot if looked well enough inside as the mech had accumulated some ice around its body, a tell tail sign of long time exposure as the mech held strongly to the spear and it brought to the question if anyone was inside.

"It seems its sustained some damage, I'm bringing it in." She said as she hooked it and thrust towards the ship and back to the docking bay as she pushed it in and followed afterward. The mech laid on its back with the wings sticking together automatically and its hand released the rather large spear as engineers came in to do an examination and to inspect for any possible life within it."Search the mech all over for anything hanging on and check for any more cockpits besides the one in the chest after that we will check for life in the main one." He said to the other engineers.

Engineer surround the mech as a gray mouse girl with blond hair examines the cockpit. "Huh... This one's a lot different than the standard mobile weapons we have..." She said as she took out her Omni-tool and plugged it into the side of the cockpit as she began bypassing the lock system. "Almost..... A bit more annnnd...." The hatch clicked and opened.

It hissed loudly as steam began to shoot out and it began to creak open up to reveal a passed out suited figure with a tinted visor miraculously gripping onto the control and still passed out. "We need a medic team out here!" She shouted as a team came out and attempted to move him from the mech. The pilot's grip was strong and almost as hard as iron on the controls as there was a single cord connecting the pilot to the mech itself and it was plugged into the back of their neck.

One got into the mech and carefully attempted to disconnect him from the mech. "It's like a baser version of the Zero X inside..." the mouse girl said. As the attempt continued s audible male groan was heard as well as hollow breathing and then the brittle helmet visor  shattered exposing a face unseen and strange. The med team backed away as the mouse girl engineer peers into the cockpit. "Hey, hey you! You alright?" The mouse girl asked. as a white cat entered the docking bay seeing the mech and heading back shrugging. The male's  eyes slightly opened but it was more of a zoned out look almost half aware and half unconscious as his grip from the controls released and the pilot went limp.

The med team disconnect him and put him on a stretcher while assessing his vitals, in the med lab the white cat female was getting dressed in her pilot suit as she looked at the new person. "Thaniel to the docking bay for weapons testing, Thaniel to the docking bay for testing." The voice over the PA said as she put on a helmet similar to the males, her suit white and yellow as her helmet was all white with a retractable white visor as she left.
