  1. This is an announcement.txt mod suggested by /u/LocoRojo, or Urist McMagnum on youtube.

  3. With the edits they made, many things that are current small alert boxes on the left will pause the game and provide a more visual warning.
  4.  
  5. Just copy and paste this whole file into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\data\init\announcements.txt".

  26. BOX or DO_MEGA: the announcement will appear in a box and pause the game
  27. P or PAUSE: the announcement will cause the game to pause
  28. R or RECENTER: the announcement will cause the game to recenter (if possible)
  29. A_D or A_DISPLAY: the announcement will be displayed in the main adventure announcement log (and on screen)
  30. D_D or D_DISPLAY: the announcement will be displayed in the dwarf announcement alerts
  31. UCR or UNIT_COMBAT_REPORT: the announcement will be associated to the unit combat/hunting/sparring reports
  32. UCR_A or UNIT_COMBAT_REPORT_ALL_ACTIVE: the announcement will be associated to any active unit combat/hunting/sparring reports, but if there are no reports it will not create one
