Future wizard playstyles

My fellow wizards!

I had a look through our devblogs and I found a certain worrying entry that many of us seem to have missed.

This blog post seems to imply that, in the cause of "ensuring that a wide variety of different combat playing styles are feasible and competitive with each other", we will no longer be able feasibly to -choose- melee over magic, thus -decreasing- the flexibility of our playstyle choices! All wizards will stand in the midst of orbiting shields, casting area spells and nothing else, lest they *shudder* be suboptimal.

I'm all for fireballs just like any other wizard, but sometimes one just wants to spend a lazy afternoon bashing npcs over the head with a staff, you know?
