- Talmud means instruction. It is composed of the Mishnah, which means the commandment or oral law; and the Gemara, which means completion, i.e. what is spoken regarding the commandment. It was codified following the destruction of the second Jewish Temple in 70 A.D., and was sealed by 500 A.D.; and it is the eminent catechism of Judaism, and the prime source for exposition of legal interpretation for Israelites. It is kept by Rabbis (teachers).
- The following elucidation of the salient points from the aforementioned instruction in regards to gentiles (foreign nations); along with various ephemera, would meet with dismissal by its authorized interpreters; and is thus directed to my own people. Note that throughout the missive, the term “Israelites” is used interchangeably in reference to “Jews,” a prevalent cognomen.
- All Israelites have a portion in the world to come; though in some instances, this portion has become forfeit. The law bestows life on its practitioners, both in this life and in the life to come. He who lays on himself the yoke of the law is relieved from the yoke of the kingdom and custom of the world, and vice versa. Daughters of those who do not study the instruction are no better than beasts.
- The charitable deeds of one who conducts business in support of his study of the law merit the support of his ancestors, and live forever; whereas the study of the law unsupported by business is ineffectual and will be the cause of sin. Love your business and hate dominion, and be unknown to government.
- The serpent communicated defilement to Eve, through whom all the nations are defiled, except for Israel; because Israel’s defilement stemming from this source was removed at the convocation at Mount Sinai [for receiving the law from God]. Jewish proselytes are cleansed of this defilement by means of the efficacy of their lucky star, which shined on the congregation at Sinai as it did on them.
- Whilst the wicked are in the world, wrath is in the world; and it will retire when the wicked are destroyed from the world.
- Foreigners are loathsome. Their marriages are null. Their kings are dogs. It is permissible to deceive them, and Israelites are released from oaths made to them. It is not necessary to restore their lost possessions. It is wrong to invite them into a Jewish house. Women are forbidden from being alone with them. Men ought not to be alone with them, as they are apt to shed blood. An Israelite who bears witness before them against a fellow Israelite is publicly cursed.
- A Jewish midwife may not attend their births, nor a Jewish nurse suckle their children. It is permissible for a physician to heal them only for a fee, or for the practice of medicine; but not for the purpose of saving a life.
- It is forbidden to have dealings with them within the three days leading up to one of their holidays; or to trade with ships adorned with their regal crests. Several items are forbidden for trade with them. Their wine is forbidden. Their butcher meat is carrion. Milk furnished from them is forbidden, unless the milking process be visually observed by an Israelite.
- Several structures are forbidden for joint building projects with them. They may buy buildings in the Land of Israel, and may rent fields therein; but they may lease neither buildings nor fields.
- If a man kills an Israelite, he and his posterity are forever guilty of destroying the whole world, or future offspring, of the victim.
- Slander is murder.
- An alarm may be blown on the Sabbath [holy day of rest] in order to solicit aid, under the following circumstances: for a city encompassed by foreigners; for a city encompassed by flood; or for a ship tossed by the sea.
- Titus rent the veil of the temple with a sword. Jesus, alias “that man,” was a fool; the deceiver of Israel; and a guilty sorcerer who was stoned, and then was hanged on the eve of the Passover [a Jewish holiday]. His disciples were heretics and their writings are sinful.
- It is permissible to consult Satan, a.k.a. the Angel of Death, but only on weekdays [days other than the Sabbath]. He has no power over those actively engaged in reading the law.
