  1. This couldn't wait. Not anymore.
  2.
  3. When the three of them make it to the temple, Keitaro turns about to offer the teleportation crystal once more- the plan and agreement was already hashed out, but.. it's still better to actually inform her about it.
  4.
  5. "Elyon has agreed to your terms earlier on. You will have access to Illyothian technology we retrieve for examination purposes - and you will be able to make use of this device as well, once it's functional."
  6.
  7. "Do please note that the technology, as agreed, will remain with Gehenna. You'll simply have access to it otherwise."
  8.
  9. But that should've been clear already. After all, she was the one to suggest this deal. Nonetheless.. when the crystal is extended, what he also offers is a bundle of soulsteel, orchilacum and even mythril, just in case. These are given in ample amounts, perhaps even more than she could use.
  10.
  11. "I could definitely attune it to spirit realms or invoke upon spiritmancy to make it directed better to spirit realms - however, you can do what you think is best otherwise." There's trust that Artificer would do it proper.
  12.
  13. "Feel free to get started."
  14. (Keitaro)
  15.
  16. The white-feathered looks to the components. From her bag, a rolled up schematic is produced, unrolled upon a nearby table! Such a thing showcases a mithril box that surrounds the device...
  17.
  18. Making it seem almost like a lantern? The crystal in the center and the containment device around it, emblazoned with runes. No doubt this containment device was assembled so as to give that 'surface area', Magdalen stated that she required!
  19.
  20. "Mm... This device won't be as fancy as the one I made for Ohtli, but as just a two-way transporter, it should work."
  21.
  22. She'll motion to the runes emblazoned around the base of that lantern, under where the crystal sits.
  23.
  24. "I accept those terms, mhm. That's spell circle Netherworld, it's the key-glyph that links this device to the Spirit Realm. I'll have it constructed of Soul Steel, so as to maximize that resonance.
  25.
  26. This device might take you to operate it, be warned, though. Or at least someone able to visualize the destination clearly, unless you have some sort of physical component strongly associated with a particular destination you can use as a tether, as Sebathium is potent, but too generically attuned to the Spirit Realm's energies.
  27.
  28. Depending on how much Soul Steel you have, though, I could perhaps make a projection you or another can 'pre-charge' for a particular place, though, so as to allow another a way there and a way back, hmhm?"
  29.
  30. The white-feathered casually comes to unwrap some sort of object from her back, elongated, and pure white. There's no tools she's brought with her - just this staff with an iridescent, faint aura.
  31.
  32. "Ah - it'd be best if you didn't tell others of this talent, also. It's still experimental - though no person in Agartha, perhaps on the face of Eternia, can shape metal as I can."
  33.
  34. One hand finds a specific set of grooves about the two-thirds mark of the staff, the gold-tattoo traced thing pressing into them, gold-white tendrils of mana drifting from fingers, entering the artificial circuits so as to activate the primary connective wires and runic bindings within her strange staff...
  35. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  36.
  37. No other person can shape metal as she can.
  38.
  39. It brings about the idea with the metal he retrieved from the Illyothian islands.. one that was actually alive at its very core. However, he was saving that for the future, for something grand, something that he would no doubt wish to keep to himself- after all, this would be providing access to the spirit realms for Gehenna as a whole, which means they could study from spirits or even pluck rarest of materials from those realms.
  40.
  41. Is it so bad, to work on something for yourself, at least once?
  42.
  43. He didn't believe it to be that way. When Magdalen unveils all those objects to him, he only reveals more and more soulsteel to her- in truth, this amount of metal looks enough to make a full plate out of it, and perhaps even a bit more than that; he wasn't sure whether that's enough for her or not, but still..
  44.
  45. "This looks like plentiful of metal to me." A pause, and he adds further. "But I'm no expert, so I'll leave the judgment up to you."
  46.
  47. "Ideally, this device will be attuned to major realms only, which I listed. Any minor realms become unnecessary, as there are far too many of those to ever attune to them correctly. If you build it all up, or make enough space to work with, I could pre-charge it with essence of each realm."
  48.
  49. As a Spiritmancer, he'd make a poor shaman who never knew essences of separate worlds. From Yggdrasil, to Helheim and even Uraheim and more.. he knew it all, some better, some worse. The fact remains that he could at least access different places - though, only specific locations that he personally knows of.
  50.
  51. Isn't that what was needed, anyway?
  52.
  53. "I will work in tandem with you, so my own contribution isn't out of place."
  54. (Keitaro)
  55.
  56. Watching, and analyzing all that was said, and discussed here.
  57.
  58. The panther's eyes would widen some as he saw the display from the demi angel, tendrils of mana encircling and connecting among circuits to form something truly interesting.
  59.
  60. He didn't know too much of the Spirit Realm, but he was slowly growing more inclined to want to research it between all of Keitaro's doings, and his duties as Shaman.
  61.
  62. "You're just chock full of boons, aren't you?
  63.
  64. Though, I think it'd be best if I start getting into some of these concepts more. I'd much rather be a tool for progress than a simple observer, anyways." he'd state, nodding over to Magdalen to encourage her feats, and listening in with twitching ears as Keitaro gave his informative dialogues.
  65. (Kabu)
  66.
  67. The immaculate staff Magdalen wields glows with power. It would be unsafe for her to release her grip on it while it's activated, but she'll take a few quick steps, and add a small addition to her schematic, while the device activates!
  68.
  69. It's an overwhelming sensation for her, returning to the center of the room and focusing on the materials laid out... The circuit-cluster on the inside of the pale staff opens - connecting Spire Shard core to capacitor, and capacitor to Conversion runes.
  70.
  71. The bottom third of it illuminates with an utterly complex network of interconnected runes - hundreds in total, that form a singular circle of Wayfinding, the mass-to-energy conversion.
  72.
  73. "Mm... So, I'll need to shape the device first... That won't be hard, and I can do it quickly-
  74.
  75. But your device, since you don't have a power source for it yet, will likely need to be activated via ritual, by a number of powerful mages, so as to have it transport them. Keep that in mind, dear!
  76.
  77. You'll likely want to upgrade the internals to arcanium and add a power source, in the future!"
  78.
  79. Magdalen comes to raise her staff, iridescent, rainbow-hued tendrils of multicolored light 'splashing back' from her connection, trailing a bit down the fine, circuit-like channels tattooed into her right hand!
  80.
  81. "I'll need to focus, now. This is a delicate procedure..."
  82.
  83. Her focus is steeled, staring down only at the components before her, as the bottom third of her staff half-blazes with viridian runes!
  84.
  85. This heavy implement is brought to touch each chunk of metal individually, a rippling pulse running through such material - as it becomes hazy and translucent, raising into the air and floating before her. Orichalcum, mithril, and soul steel, gold, silver, and azure-white metals suspended as strange mana-ghost like projections that float about oh-so-slowly.
  86.
  87. The last part is touched, tapping the teleportation device itself with that viridian end of her staff! That same rippling wave of energy rushes over it, turning such a device into that same ghostly structure! Such a thing floating at the center of the ghostly, almost liquid metals, while glittering patterns dance throughout it and its surface, highlighting ever channel that mana may flow within the Illyothian piece of technology!
  88.
  89. And now, the Atmosian-blooded takes the left side of her staff in hand, finding similar grooves for fingers to rest within, at about the one-third section! The connections are activated between that capacitor brimming with overwhelming power, slowing its flow and making it manageable, towards the perfect diamond focusing crystal at the top that gives the staff it's primary ability...
  90. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  91.
  92. The fact that he would need to be activating this wasn't exactly a stranger fact to him; he was actually ready for this sort of 'management' of device, because he realized that all types of people would be willing to access it - and he must oversee it, all to ensure that they do not commit something atrocious with it, or instead get themselves hurt.
  93.
  94. "I realize that it's lacking power source of its own, though, the crystal is capable of teleportation as mentioned - I think it may actually hold power already." A pause lingers, his gaze trailing down to the crystal.
  95.
  96. "Because it kept teleporting previously, without being connected to any source of power whatsoever. It might already come by default, really.." But whether it did or not, it would still need to be guarded. When she speaks of upgrading it in the future, he steadily nods, realizing that the capacity wouldn't likely be as great without such upgrades.
  97.
  98. But vast capacity wasn't even needed. Sending a group or up to three groups of magi at the time would more than suffice. When she begins her work, the spiritmancer observes, almost akin to taking notes of how she works on this exactly - this might come handy later.
  99.
  100. While she works on the device itself and the relevant metals, what Keitaro does is begin attuning it to the required spirit realms. The azure lightning traces from his form, though it quickly becomes apparent that it's incorporeal, much like it doesn't 'exist' in this world.. and when this azure lightning traces over to the device, it seems to pass through.
  101.
  102. One to Yggdrasil, not far from the center.
  103. Another to Vanaheim, right on the outskirts, away from silver walls.
  104. Third to Joruheim, close to guardians.
  105. Helheim, amidst the horrible spawns of Nethradin, taken from Synmael.
  106. Alfheim, in the peaceful meadows next to the river.
  107. Uraheim, above the sheets of ice.
  108. Ifraheim, next to inferno of volcanos.
  109. Terraheim, in vast landscapes of mountains.
  110.
  111. Of course, there were all personal points that Keitaro could visualize and had visited at some point. The ritual to project his essence was necessary for that, but as Spiritmancer with solid training, he was capable of that. An idle hum escapes him.. steadily working on it all.
  112.
  113. One at a time,
  114. the azure lightning remains.
  115. (Keitaro)
  116.
  117. This project was so beyond him, and yet it still felt close to home...
  118.
  119. The Shaman would throw some incense into the pyre before him, some herbs he'd grown right on the spot from his nature magics. rosemary, peppermint, and rennet were all flora that the hunter was familiar with, and each aided the process of concentration for actions regarding aptitude, and a careful spirit.
  120.
  121. He may not have been able to contribute many words, or wisdom of the realms they were crossing, but he could provide nourishment for their subconscious bodies.
  122.
  123. The aromas would flood, and perforate a swirling miasma of minty and non-distracting.
  124.
  125. Making a bit of a motions to let the air clear so as not to be thickened, or cause any troubles in their ease, Kabu would feel at that very least. That this was something decent to do.
  126. (Kabu)
  127.
  128. Keitaro would find that he's barely able to interact with the metals or device while it's in this ghostly form. And when he does, the Gilded Artificer visible winces. She'll manage to slip out;
  129.
  130. "Ah- Ow... Please wait..."
  131.
  132. Gritting her teeth momentarily, she has to pause for a moment, before pointing the diamond focusing head at the shard in the center! Iridescent light trails down both of her arms faintly, mostly beaten back by a gold-white glow from her own body!
  133.
  134. The Soul Steel would be the first thing Magdalen points her staff at, before aiming it back towards the center. With obvious effort, the sebathium flows outwards in strands of glistening energy-formed material! Energy that winds itself to the shard at the center, attaching to the fine, luminous lines within the machine itself!
  135.
  136. Not simply pressing up against, either - those tendrils of azure-silver metal press into the pathways within the device, before arranging themselves in the form of that rune-weave design upon Magdalen's schematics. Supporting weave connected to the shard - forming a connection to the spirit realm through the first circle of Wayfinding - Netherworld. Parameters surround it, another complex pattern of floating, connected metal runes to tell it when to activate! And the radial glyph surrounds that - a band of runes that supply mana to the device!
  137.
  138. Similar runes are formed around the device in the rest of that soul-steel, before pointing staff to have that gold metal unwind into tendrils, working on the calculating runework that assists Wayfinding in its operation - connected to Soul-steel nodes on different sides of the device, eight in total, so as to allow those to be attuned to the locations.
  139.
  140. Then, Interpolation and Travel in orichalcum, their supporting weaves connected to the eight nodes, while radial glyphs are attached to Netherworld's own, to ensure power is shared across the device's runework.
  141.
  142. Finished that system of wire-like, fine glyphs that surround the device, the last step is containment, as the mithril is pointed at! The silvery metal billows outwards, unwinding and uncoiling, so as to wrap the shard and the runes around the shard in that lantern-like, currently ethereal casing!
  143.
  144. And once the metal wraps into place, like an orb-like lantern, other orbs of soul-steel surrounding it, the last step is taken - Magdalen activates the top third of the staff, de-Conversion runes in that brilliant viridian blazing...
  145.
  146. And making the newly constructed device physical, once that head comes to touch its mithril casing! A rippling pulse of energy has the machine become real oncemore.
  147.
  148. Smithed through Magdalen's power alone, no hands having forged it.
  149.
  150. The orb-like lantern device gently sets down upon the carpet, alongside the sprinkling of impurities, filtered out as Magdalen manipulated only the materials themselves...
  151.
  152. The second connection is closed off, first, the iridescent energy ceasing its flow, alongside the de-Conversion runes and diamond focus's gleam, before the first connection is closed off, capacitor and Conversion runes draining of power slowly.
  153.
  154. Once the staff is wrapped in linens and placed upon her back, Magdalen will go and flop atop the cushions, tired and pained a little, lamenting softly;
  155.
  156. "Ow... You can attune them now. If we work on a project again and I have pieces in their energy form, please don't try to mess with them. It already consumes so much of my focus to keep the energy from scattering and going everywhere..."
  157.
  158. It's likely that the lightning-mage would now attune the device!
  159. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  160.
  161. Kabu whispers something.
  162.
  163. When she asks for it, the spiritmancer obliges.
  164.
  165. There's an evident wait in which he pauses his work, only having marking 'destinations' before anything else, but the flow of energy is paused for a while, allowing the Artificer to peacefully finish up the piece of her work. If there was anything true about Keitaro, it's the fact that he didn't want to suddenly make anything go wrong with it - and he remained patient.
  166.
  167. "Worry not. I'll wait."
  168.
  169. While the spiritmancer remains observant of her work, he can't help but ponder just how many projects prior to this the Artificer has completed to be skilled this way.. but it also makes him realize just how valuable of an ally she could be, to be helpful in so many things. Whereas the wars had long ended since then..
  170.
  171. Now, it was the time for bright minds to shine.
  172.
  173. Upon the ending of her own work, at last, the floods of spiritual essences and energy are allowed to move, attuning the device to major realms- the essence and directions of each are thoroughly visualized on his mind, all to make sure that it would end up having the right direction.
  174.
  175. You cannot afford mistakes in things like these.
  176.
  177. Though, Keitaro's work is short. Whereas Magdalen constructs the functionality for the crystal, as well as the work as a whole, the drakanite's job is to attune the device to the spirit realms, and cause it to run smoother- knowing just how bad teleportation can go, it's fair to assume that this part of the work is just as important.
  178.
  179. Nobody cancelled assurance of safety and proper work.
  180.
  181. In the end, what they're left with is a crystal, a device for it that manages to open up the teleportation possibility to the Spirit Realms. And while this remains untested, and could definitely be tested first before it's brought to masses.. Keitaro isn't concerned about it too much. He will be the one to test it.
  182.
  183. "I appreciate your work, Artificer." Carefully, and only after the work is fully finished, the drakanite takes it upon himself to inspect the device and collect it. A curious gaze lingers..
  184.
  185. "Feel free to visit to make use of it once it's done. Until then.. I believe I have testing to do." Rising to a stand, he glanced at the two nearby. There's an evident smile to his features, almost unable to contain himself.. he certainly wished to do it as soon as possible.
  186.
  187. "Thanks again. We'll meet later."
  188. (Keitaro)
