Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.  Course materials will be sent to you approximately 2 days before class starts. Depending on number of students and available lab system resources you will work in lab teams of 2 or more.  Also, as this virtual class crosses multiple time zones scheduling meal breaks is an issue. Plan to have any meals you will require with you.

PC OS Version: Blackboard Collaborate works with Windows 7, Mac and Linux.  Linux works, but can have problems.  If you have problems getting Linux to work in the Verify Connection section below, see the link for suggested solutions.
Verify Connection: Do this BEFORE the 1st day of class to ensure that your PC had the latest client software installed. This software can be quite large and could delay your entry into class unless you do this ahead of time.

to launch our Virtual Class Configuration Room.  This is a special virtual classroom session that launches to verify that your PC can start our virtual class software.  Follow the short instructions on the screen after the session begins and you are ready for class.

Communications: A headset with speakers and a microphone is recommended for this class. This is a live, interactive class and the microphone is required so you can fully participate.  Please note that built-in speakers and microphones may work correctly in Collaborate but quality is better with a headset.

ID & Password
You must login to the virtual classroom server to join your class. Use as the ID your IBM intranet ID without the ".ibm.com" portion, and the addition of "-usse" and the password elearn.
For example, John Doe (jdoe@us.ibm.com) would log in with the ID of jdoe@us-usse with the password elearn.
Joining Class
Once logged in to the server, there is a link to Join  the class. There will be one event for each day of the class. You will be able to connect to the session up to 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Please join at least 15 minutes early so we can start the class on time.
