Digiverse Episode 3

Byleth is currently walking to St. Garreg Mach HS with her friends, Rin and Edelgard who are discussing the latest episode of She-Ra, Yang, who's currently looking up pics of the fight yesterday with the digimons(That Byleth is certain have no feed of her nor Jalen..) with a wide smile as Lucina, leading the girls, walk with a confident stride fitting of an athlete. Inside of Byleth's backpack is Gigimon who's soundly sleeping for the moment as the girls walk past the gates of the high school and on the schoolyard with numerous students before them.

"I'm so glad Adora is standing up to Catra, not believing that what's been going on is all her fault." Edelgard tells Rin who nods. "Agreed, not only does this make Adora much stronger, but this is probably the wake-up call that Catra needed..." Ahead of them, Yang was busy texting the pics to someone who she KNOWS would love to hear about this. "(I don't care if I go to jail about this, she have to know about this!)" Lucina look over and see some of her swimming teammates waving at her as she coolly nods at them with her walking to the stairs. "(This opening meet will be a cinch for me and the team, We're gonna win for sure!)) She clinches a fist with a scowl as she look down while walking, unaware that she's gonna bump into someone soon. "(I'll make sure that dad can bring that trophy home without J--!)" She soon feel a black hand on her shoulder, stopping her from walking forward as she look ahead and scowl with a disgusted look.

"...Jalen.."

nside the front halls of the school, the girls stop as Jalen stand before Lucina with the latter glaring at a relatively calm fellow schoolmate. "And hello to you too, Lucina." He's wearing a long black school jacket with his hat on as well as his backpack on. "What do you want..." She speaks the words with enough quiet anger that anyone else would had walked off scared.

But not Jalen who merely adjust his hat and sighs. "I ain't here to speak to you, I was just checking on Byleth is all." This only make Lucina more annoyed and confused as she widen her eyes and look at the girl in question as Yang rubs her chin in thought. "Huh...Byleth...I know why." She have a mischievous smirk "Well, I gotta admit she is a cutie..." She soon get a glare that can melt steel from Lucina which silence Yang before she could even chuckle as Jalen shakes her head. "No, I was merely asking if she would be busy after school. There's something I wanna show her."

If the girls was confused before, then they are now baffled as Byleth sweats a bit from the attention. "(DAMNIT, WHY COULDN'T HE WAIT UNTIL WE WERE ALONE AND NOT MY FRIENDS ALL LOOKING AT ME!?!?)"
"Uh...Sure thing, buddy ol' pal of mines! Nothing sexual happening between me and you at all!" She smiles widely and look between her friends's various expressions of disbelief, worry, and in one case, anger mixed with envy. "(Lucina's gonna grill the fuck out of me...)" Jalen slowly nods, understanding that maybe he came at a wrong time and adjust his backpack. "Well, we share the same last period so we can work from there."

He turn and tries to walk away before Lucina grabs his hand and tightly squeeze it as he turn back and glare at her. "The hall just got chilly...despite it being warm.." Rin comments with a slight tinge of concerned as the two students glare at each other. "You uhh..." Jalen briefly look at their hands and back at her. "Mind letting go?" "I don't know what kind of deal you got with Byleth bu-" "That's none of you business, mind you." "It is, cause she's my friend."

She pull him a bit closer, the 2 sharing the same height so they are eye-to-eye now as she continues to speak. "And I'll be damned if you put her through the same shit I went through with you."
"....." Jalen closes his eyes and breath in and out before responding.. "All of this...cause I quit the swimming team, huh?" "That you quit the team is one thing.." Lucina shakes her head before scowling at him "But the fact that you can't tell me, who I thought was your closest friend and partner WHY you quit?!.." Still holding on to his hand, trying to make it hurt but find it difficult.. "...Imagine the pain I feel..."

Jalen smoothly remove his hand and place it in his jacket pocket as he look at her with a frown to meet her baleful glare. "...I'm sorry that I can't tell you...you wouldn't believe me anyway.." Byleth suddenly begin to piece the puzzle before her in her mind. "(Wait, he quit the team about 6 months ago...was that the time he got Veemon?)" "Well, if anything...the Swimming Team really miss you dude..Lucina's dad won't shut up abo--" Once again, Yang's big mouth nets her in some trouble ad both Edelgard and Rin cover her mouth with their hands as she struggles against them.

"It's whatever.." Lucina brushes past Jalen roughly and make way to her locker to prep for class as Yang break free and jog off upon seeing a girl with a black bow in her head walking up the stairs to the second floor. "Well, always nice to see ya, Jalen." Rhiannon nods as Edelgard does the same and walk off, leaving Jalen with one angry Byleth who gets close to his face and point at him. "What the hell was that all about?! You do realize that Lucina is gonna grill me at lunch now, right?!"

Jalen takes a small step back, not expecting the shorter girl to aggressively come at him in such a manner. "Uhh...Well, I needed to see you as soon as possible." Looking around and seeing some of the other students glancing at them with wary looks. "(No doubt thinking why is she with him...)" He frowns as he look at her. "I have something for your 'computer.'" He reach into his pocket and hold out a red floppy disc and place it in her hand. "Give that to your computer and it will be well-fed for the whole day...I have more, but I'll talk to you more later after school..." He walk off to the stairs, leaving Byleth to wonder what just went down and process it all.
"So, he got some history with Lucina...a bad one at that..." He move her backpack off of her back and to her chest as she open it up and place the floppy disc inside for Gigimon to eat...sounds of a happy munching occurs as she smiles and walk off. "Well, I'll worry about that later on.." And so her school day begins as she waits in anticipation for what Jalen have in store for her.
