  1. >Leni sat for a second.
  2. >In her right hand was a giant ball of yarn.
  3. >In her left, a hook.
  4. >What hand did she use for which again?
  5. >Leni couldn't remember.
  6. >Like, it didn't matter.
  7. >Whatever works works, right?
  8. >An acrid burning smell hit Leni's nostrils.
  9. >She was working too fast for the yarn again.
  10. >Oh well. This yarn ball may have been depleted, but the next one would-
  11. >Leni's hand grasped air.
  12. >She was out of yarn.
  13. >"Like, this can't be happening!"
  14. >It totally was.
  15. >Leni was already halfway out the door before she realized she'd get cited if she went shopping in her underwear.
  16. >Again.
  17. >"Leni! What's the big deal?"
  18. >She also apparently knocked over Lynn.
  19. >"The craft store closes in an hour, Lynndolin! I gotta get there or-"
  20. >"It's eight at night. The craft store's been closed for an hour."
  21. >Lucy's voice came from out of a nearby vent.
  22. >"Is it?"
  23. >"Yes" her two younger sisters replied.
  24.
  25. >Dejected by the words of the mysterious wind-daemon of the vent and Lynn, Leni frowned her way back to her room.
  26. >She couldn't believe how stupid she had been.
  27. >Now the scarf (hat? Leni couldn't decide)she was working on would never be finished.
  28. >"Hey, Leni, what is it that you needed, anyway?"
  29. >"I was, like, gonna make a... something... with yarn, but, like, I'm all out."
  30. >"But we aren't."
  31. >"Yes we are! I totes couldn't find any in my room!"
  32. >Lynn produced a ball of orange yarn.
  33. >Leni gasped.
  34. >Her sister was a wizard!
  35. >"We bought like a hundred last week, remember?"
  36. >Oh, yeah.
  37. >One of these days that medicine would take effect after 6:30 like the doctor said.
  38. >Leni sat back down and got to work with a purpose that she previously didn't have.
  39. >Lynn looked over her shoulder.
  40. >How in the world did she work that fast?
  41. >Her hands flew through the yarn ball like air, and out came a little orange cap.
  42. >Leni put the cap on Lynn.
  43. >It was like a hug for her head.
  44. >"Leni! How'd you do that?"
  45. >Leni shrugged.
  46. >"I, like, just kinda, y'know, totes watched a little old lady do it at the park."
  47. >Lynn was amazed.
  48. >"I wanna do it! Teach me!"
  49. >Leni smiled.
  50. >"Totally. If you can help me find my crochet hook, that is."
  51. >Leni scratched her head with a crochet hook.
