CLIMATE CHANGE - WHAT CAN WE DO ?

For those who want to focus on what can be done: Properly managed grasslands & savannas (dotted with trees) can sequester massive amounts of carbon very quickly - improving soil fertility, and increasing stocking rates, while repairing the water cycle mitigating droughts & floods, AND producing high quality proteien regeneratively.     Grass plants are super-efficient solar collectors and pump massive amounts of carbon compounds into the soil - which feeds a huge number and volume of organisms in the 'soil food web'.  These organisms help stabilize the carbon (unless it is released by plowing), and provide an array of important services to the eco-systems - like de-salinating soils (which makes growing crops impossible; often caused by long-term irrigation, and/or chemical fertilizers), and many others.  Of course the basics are still important.  EVERY bit makes a difference! - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.  Use it up before you throw it away.  (There is no such place as 'Away' anyway).  Plan/combine trips.  Carpool, or use public transport, or ride a bike when practical.  Support local businesses owned by real people (not fake corporate 'people'). Eat locally, sustainably/regeeratively produced food.  Wear natural fibers, sustainably/ organically produced when available.     Protest, in whatever way works for you, laws & regulations restircting private homeowners from generating their own electricity.  And generate your own if you can!  (The Waltons of Wal-Mart are funding the push to keep solar and wind generation in the hands of for-profit corporations.)    And use your creativity, your areas of expertise, your areas of interest, your personal network to come up with new and better ways to live well, while living easier on the planet's life support system!
