  2. [15:29] <@Kjell> ~~~Postgame~~~
  3. [15:29] <@Kjell> -Session 131-
  4. [15:30] <@Kjell> Liri's second month of being was both more fruitful, and a lot more eventful. Although most of the problems were resolved and the Kingdom remains stable going into its third month, there are still some issues to be resolved.
  5. [15:31] <@Kjell> In particular, the worries that they new mining operation outside their borders will either take resources away that they could have eventually used, or draw unwanted attention and bring in more people that could upset the balance of the growing settlement.
  6. [15:43] * Kahree sends Lenoro to quell such worries, giving him a small portion of the treasury to assist.
  7. [15:48] <@Kjell> Lenoro returns with a successful treatise. Not only would the miners place their land under the rulership and protection of Liri, with a share of their profits contributing to the now larger region under Kahree's rule, but they also arrange to expand their operations to provide work opportunities for some of the extra population brought in by the drifters. Once housing construction began out that way, it could potentially become a second
  8. [15:50] <@Kjell> -it could potentially become a second city, expanding from Liri's single city-state.
  9. [15:53] <@Kjell> The reaction among the populace is positive, and the worries about resource sharing are quickly quelled.
  10. [15:58] <Kahree> As Kahree promised, her next task is building the houses for the squatters... she revisits them with her lyre, and begins to play as the workers arrive.
  11. [16:00] <@Kjell> With Kahree's help, the housing is done in very little time, and more cheaply as well.
  12. [16:03] * Kahree next commissions an inn nearby one of the housing complexes; a place for citizens and travelers to relax is always nice!
  13. [16:06] <@Kjell> The Inn is well received, as the promotions being done for Liri were attracting attention, and people who didn't plan to stay would need a place to hang their hats during the visit, and could now do so without having to petition homeowners to share or rent a room to them.
  14. [16:09] * Kjell opens the militia to the new members of the community as well, recruiting about 25 more people into his ranks.
  15. [16:11] <@Kjell> Kahree maintains her current edicts for Liri, creating a sense of stability.
  16. [16:14] * Kjell makes no further deposits to the treasury, and is glad to see Kahree do the same, hoping that their efforts over the past few months would be enough to let the city start standing on its own
  17. [16:17] <@Kjell> Liri does indeed seem to hold up on its own, as the new mine adds fairly well to the productivity, and the inn draws in travellers to bring more money into the local economy.
  18. [16:18] <@Kjell> The rest of the month remains uneventful.
  19. [16:20] <@Kjell> The beginning of the following month is peaceful as Liri begins to settle into a routine. Fishing, mining, and building provides the citizens a mix of effort and reward.
  20. [16:47] * Kjell discovers that one of the residents of Liri has knowledge of glassblowing. Since their in the desert with sand everywhere, it seemed like a muffinish thing to waste. He recommends to Kahree that they set up a shop for him to practice his craft, and potentially bring in further customers for the city as a whole
  21. [16:48] * Kahree does so, setting her workers out to build a shop for the glassblower.
  22. [16:51] <Kjell> The glassblowing shop is a remarkable success, leaving some people admitting they wish they'd thought of it, or gotten around to it sooner
  23. [16:53] * Kjell also, with the swelling population, recruits a few more militia members, ending up with a full unit of 100 men and women.
  24. [16:57] <Kjell> Liri seems to becoming reasonably prosperous for a city-state it's size, and remains uneventful for the rest of its 4th month.
  25. [16:59] <Kjell> And it continues to remain stable going into its fifth month.
  26. [16:59] <Kjell> The people really begin to feel that they're building somethign that will last here.
  27. [17:14] * Kjell suggests to Kahree that they considering making their own brewery. Both as a way of keeping spirits up (and local), and as a nod to his own patron Celestia, even though Sarenrae was generally more popular here
  28. [17:14] <Kahree> Brewery it is! Kahree commissions it next.
  29. [17:15] <Kjell> The residents of Liri really have no reason to complain about this development
  30. [17:19] <Kjell> The productivity of Liri seems to be up this time around, and the treasury reaches the fullest it's been since the settlement was founded.
  31. [17:19] <Kjell> Liri remains otherwise uneventful for the rest of the month.
  32. [17:20] <Kjell> The sixth month of Liri begins well, with the settlment gaining a true sense of stability and persistance. Unrest remains minimal
  33. [17:21] <Kjell> As well, the city-state continues to have plenty to meet the needs of all of its residents.
  34. [17:26] <Kjell> Meanwhile, the glass blower creates something of a masterpiece; a glass wand, that with the help of Kyra, is enchanted as a curative tool (Cure Light Wounds)
  35. [17:35] <Kjell> With the increase in productivity comes the emerging demand for a shop or marketplace.
  36. [17:35] <Kahree> A shop would do well for the development of Liri, and so Kahree gets to work, helping, of course, with her lyre.
  37. [17:39] <Kjell> Liri continues to maintain a reasonable level of productivity as the small town expands into a large one, with a population over 2000 now after half a year
  38. [17:42] <Kjell> As Liri continues to expand, Viraj relays to Kahree an increasing demand for more diverse trade options to be made available for the settlement. Trades such as bakers, butchers, cobblers, or rope makers.
  39. [17:46] <Kjell> Going into the second half of Liri's first year, aside from the minor increase in demands, the settlement remains stable and well maintained.
  40. [17:48] * Kahree replies to Viraj's information with building a trade shop, hoping that will be sufficient for the citizens.
  41. [17:49] <Kjell> The citizens are pleased with the lot of trade shops, and don't raise any further fuss over it.
  42. [17:54] <Kjell> With the demands being met, and the new trade shops7 introduced, Liri's productivity continues to steadily gain ground, with its 7th month remaining otherwise uneventful
  43. [17:55] <Kjell> Liri remains stable as it reaches its 8th month, with nary a bit of unrest
  44. [18:05] <Kahree> With the community thriving so far, Kahree has more housing options built to prepare for any future citizens. Of course, with more citizens, there's a need for more activities, and so she has a dance hall commissioned.
  45. [18:06] <Kjell> The Dance hall becomes a popular recreation center very quickly, but at the same time some of the more ill reputed folk (there are always some) contribute to a slightly tarred reputation. Nonetheless, the unrest doesn't reach any serious problem.
  46. [18:11] <Kjell> As well, the Dance Hall brings with it a swell in productivity, bringing Liri to it's fullest treasury since the settlement was founded.
  47. [18:13] <Kjell> Unfortunately, one night the crowd gets a little too rowdy and a few bad apples incite some rioting and vandalism
  48. [18:15] <Kjell> Thankfully, Kjell takes notice and deploys the militia quickly enough to prevent any serious harm from coming to the city. However, the riot creates a demand amongst the popular for a more formal city guard.
  49. [18:15] <Kjell> *populace
  50. [18:15] <Kjell> -End Session-
