Utaku Rei

Standing at 5'2, Utaki Rei is a woman of mixed descent, as is common in the Unicorn clan. Her hair, thick, coarse and black, is often pulled up into a bun on the top of her head, wispy strands which escape framing her face. Her eyes are a brown so dark it borders on black, and her thick eyebrows are usually furrowed in a stern scowl. Her jaw and cheekbones are sharp, and her nose hawkish. On the rare occasion she is to be seen relaxing, her smile softens those sharp features considerably, and goes a long way towards making her more conventionally attractive.

Her outfit consists of either Riding Armor or hakama in the umanori style(1) over an off-white, slightly rumpled kimono, tucked in as seen here(2). Over that she wears a haori with an odd feature: it is fur-lined, and studded with leather plates, more for show than any kind of armour. Haori is basically a jacket with no clasps and loose arms. On her back is a light travelling pack.

Her weapons are the following:
She has a daiko (katana and small katana) in a brace on her right hip, a scimitar on her left hip, and a warfan on her belt. Nobody needs to know that she has no idea how to use the fan.

Utaku Rei, as an Utaku Battle Maiden, is often seen in the company of her horse, a fearsome white stallion named Torotto No Ashi (trans. Paws That Trot). The horse is massive, and obviously dotingly cared for; his coat is glossy, his mane and tail painstakingly groomed.
