  1. Tales of Remnant (?)
  2.
  3. Main CAST
  4.
  5. Corporal Eric West – The youngest member of the squad.
  6.
  7. From a young age, Eric West has displayed a wealth of natural talent and intellectual discipline; his one fault of social awkwardness is easily forgotten. These gifts would have taken him far in any occupation, and he could easily have had a successful and productive career as a corporate executive. He also had an adventurous spirit which always found such opportunities dull and inadequate, however his sense of honor and self-worth did not allow him to “waste” his gifts on artistic pursuits.
  8.
  9. Eric enlisted in the military as an attempt to utilize his natural talents for the betterment of society, while also satisfying his longing for adventure. Being the sort of person who likes to focus on the technical aspects of a challenge set in front of him, devoting himself to advancing as far as could through training was the height of both business and pleasure. However, training does not necessarily translate into practice, especially in such an elite division, so the stakes are high for him to prove himself.

  12.
  13. Central Atlesian Shock Troop
  14.
  15. Sargent Major Brandy Meridian – The oldest member of the squad.
  16.
  17. Brandy Meridian has made a career out of making “what has to be done”, actually gets done, in spite of the fear or hesitations of others. He learnt early on to view sentimentality as an obstacle to be overcome, and his own role to help you overcome it. However, said, he is not a cold man, and is always up for a good night out with his comrades…after the mission is complete.
  18.
  19. Sargent Meridian began his career as a humble, bog-standard trooper, at the bottom of Atlas’s military totem pole, but has slowly work his way up the ranks through years of hard work, and good service. For most of this time he has been leading small squads and fireteams; although he now serves no leadership position in the CAST, he is intimately familiar with balancing the responsibilities of leadership with the demands of being an active soldier.

  21. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22.
  23. Character Profile: Lieutenant Pneuma Polaris – The second in command of the CAST squad.
  24.
  25. Both motivated and reserved, Pneuma is precise and disciplined, directed wholly to her goals. She cares little for how others feel and even less for how they feel about her. She is willing to take great risks in the name of efficiency and harsh effectiveness.
  26.
  27. She speaks through a vocal implant, having lost her natural voice in an accident many years ago, but now takes every opportunity to acquire cybernetic augmentation. Rumors even circulate that she has had health limbs removed, just so she could replace them with stronger artificial ones.
  28.
  29. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  30.
  31. Captain Or d’Oriente – The leader of the squad.
  32.
  33. From the beginning of his career as a field officer in the Arial Expeditionary Force, Captain d’Oriente was renowned for the stout composer he maintained under pressure, and his ability to draw out confidence, even enthusiasm, from those around him, and since joining the CAST, his reputation has only grown. And, he holds this notoriety for good reason, because the good things attributed to him are mostly true. However, note that mostly true does not mean completely true.
  34.
  35. Despite his success and famous self-assured attitude, Captain d’Oriente has no remarkable physical or mental gifts. He does have some degree of natural charisma, but he is by not means exceptional in that regard. Even his renowned confidence is a façade; he is just an ordinary man, putting on an act of being someone extraordinary. One might even call him an imposter if it wasn’t for one thing, he has done everything he has claimed to have done, and more importantly, meant everything he has said.
  36.
  37. Or d’Oriente is an odd mix of idealism and pragmatism; believing deeply in the effect of “just and good” heroes on morale and at the same time knowing full well that no paragon of virtue was going to turn up anytime soon, unless it was him. He is acutely aware of the fact that he is not well suited, temperamentally or in any other sense, to be an inspirational role model, and part of himself resents the endeavor, but he continues to force himself into the part every day, for the sake of the greater good. The concept of Atlas as a pillar, holding up the weight of the world, weighs heavily upon him.
