Plans?: Growing the forces of the Magic Confederacy along with training them in both combat and magic, Sending out members on expeditions for ancient artifacts, Eradicating the Kingdom of Man, and eventually killing the Emperor himself.

BACKGROUND:

Rook had only heard stories; she had only heard of how great the Arcane Confederacy was, how their cities had been spread across an entire continent, and how they used their magic freely and without worry until the war happened. These stores were never as great as those that came from before the fall of the Arcane.

As a child learning from the Archmage himself, she had always dreamed of those times returning, a chance for her and those that could use their arcane potential to live free under the sun instead of rotting in a city under the soil. Such things would need to wait; however, there was no chance of them having the freedom they once had, at least not until their fabled hero returned. The mage who had united the worlds into one. No matter what she said, the response was always the same; "When our leader returns, then we'll be ready to reclaim the surface for ourselves."

As days turned to months and months to years, Rook continued to learn and grow, occasionally going with her mentor to find artifacts from the Old Age while learning everything she could about the arcane from him.

Disaster would soon strike; however, on another of their expeditions, they had been too reckless, Rook's mentor had been captured. The Archmage was in trouble, and there was little she could do with them so far away from home, but still, she had to try. Mixing her own magic and strength, Rook broke into the prison in which he was held, destroying each guard in her path but slowly being whittled down.

When she finally found the cell of the mage who had taught her everything, she didn't find her teacher; all she found was a beaten corpse. No spell she attempted to cast was enough, nothing she could do was enough to bring him back; at least not yet.

Was this the fate for the rest of her people? Waiting to be beaten to death by a kingdom of enlightened savages while hoping a savior would come down from the skies to rescue them one day.

Rook could wait no longer; she wouldn't allow her people to wait any longer. Carrying the corpse, Rook made her escape, barely escaping with her life and the corpse of her mentor. As she limped her way back home a new fire was ignited inside of her; no longer would those blessed with magic be forced to live like rats.

The time to wait for a hero to save them was over; she would take her master's place as Archmage and she would force all mages to finally stand against the Kingdom of Man.
