- 51 Merrysest, Sunsday -
- Atremis, having flown into the keep, begins his investigation...
- Atremis looks around, trying his best to keep his footing when he can't even see his foots.
- Atremis: "(Did they even tell me what to look for...?)"
- Atremis begins to sniff around, trying to find if anything smells of interest. [Perception: 20]
- He smells primarily parchment and ink, a lingering scent of human, some odd varied smells that he might associate with Nimue's magic, and musty air from the wider staircase.
- Atremis detects some familiar smells, and begins to investigate, seeing if he can find any of the papers that smell like Nimue.
- A small cloth pouch underneath the mess of papers seems to be the source of the Nimue-like smell, although the scribbles on one of the visible papers look particularly odd and unlike most of the other scribbles.
- Atremis tilts his head perplexedly at the table, before grabbing a pouch and one of the papers and reaching back, trying to locate one of his now-invisible armor pouches and stuff the items in there.
- Atremis, looking satisfied at getting the items packed away, begins to root through the desk for non-paper items of interest. [Perception: 10]
- There seems to be nothing but papers and books.
- Atremis shakes his head, hopping off from the desk and looking for a way further into the tower.
- The staircase seems to continue much further down, the air becoming very musty.
- Atremis walks down the stairs carefully, keeping his paws soft and his ears open. [Stealth: 22, Perception: 20]
- Aside from the musty air, the only real smell is faintly of blood and something a little like dogs. The room seems to be empty and silent, with no noticeable sound coming from the hallway.
- Atremis, finding a small hallway, walks carefully through it, keeping a careful eye out. [Perception: 16]
- It's still quiet, past a door that seems to have seen better days. The largest of the small cracks at the bottom might be large enough to squeeze through, at the cost of some nasty splinters.
- Atremis balks for a moment when he encounters a splintery hole in a door, before shaking his head and trying to squeeze through. [Escape Artist: 26]
- Atremis: "(Remember, you're doing it for the pastries...)"
- Atremis wriggles through the crack fairly painlessly, emerging in a similarly dark room, with only a desk and bookcases. A somewhat familiar-looking skeletal creature stands motionless against the wall, indifferent or oblivious to him.
- Atremis looks at the skeleton for a moment disconcertedly, before moving to the desk, examining these for particularly unusual scribbles or smelling of Nimue. [Perception: 21]
- [Fortitude Save: 9]
- As Atremis paws around the desk, he finds his paws turning garishly red, a much brighter color than his fur, but seems otherwise unharmed.
- Atremis pauses, staring at his paws.
- Atremis: "(...I should ask Sana. But first, I need to find... whatever it was they wanted me to find...)"
- Atremis returns to his investigation.
- Two of the papers laid out on the table have noticeably odd scribbles. One of the others is spattered with blood droplets, and a small wooden box smells very odd but not Nimue-like. Otherwise, there are only standard writing supplies and papers.
- Atremis grabs and stows more oddly-scribbled papers into his pouch, then, sniffing at a box, attempts picking it up.
- Atremis attempts to store the box away but, realizing his pouches were never actually made with boxes in mind, decides to start returning back out of the tower, holding the box in his mouth as he does so.
- The skeletal thing starts to stir as Atremis jumps down to the door, just before he slips back out of the room. [Escape Artist: 25]
- Atremis returns safely up the staircase, the tower room still empty.
- Atremis returns to the window, checking for a moment to see if the flight magic is still in effect before he makes any rash jumps.
- Atremis, satisfied in the magic, leaps out the window, intent to reach the outer wall so he has firm footing under his paws again.
