Plans for moderating the KH1 leaderboards

Hey everyone, first off, I would like to say thank you for voting for me to be a new LB mod. Some of you may remember that I used to be a LB mod, but because of a falling out, I decided to dropout. Things happen, people change, and now I am back. Recently it has become pretty apparent that there is a lack of communication on things LB mods are working on. With that, I wanted to let yall know some plans I have with the LBs for the future.  As always, let me know any concerns you may have with the leaderboards so we can start working on them. There are 3 things that I want to start working on. One being something that should be taken care of within a few days, another being something that might take a week or so (depends on if I have time with working on the other things), and the last one is something that is long term.

1. Bringing back the KHSpeedrun Twitter: We were told not too long ago that mods would start using this twitter account again, but it never really started happening. Well, I want to bring it back for real this time. In the past, we would use this twitter account to tweet out whenever anyone got a pb. Because of tweetdeck, this makes tweeting out runs alot easier, since you dont have to even sign out of your main account to tweet on a different one. In the past, we had an issue doing this sometimes because of the twitter character limit, but now that it has been increased, we shouldnt run into any trouble tweeting out that a person got a pb, what their time is, what their twitch handle is, and @'ing them on twitter. This one shouldnt be hard at all to start up, so it should only take a day or 2 really. There are a few things to discuss on how to handle the account. Things like: Should we allow each mod to have the account information to tweet out a run that they verify? This would be the easiest solution, but then you have alot of people with information to one account, and if one of the mods wanted to, they could delete the account. This would more than likely never happen, but it is a concern that should be brought up and discussed. Another thing we could do is to designate one game mod from each game to be the person to tweet out runs. This would combat the "too many people with the account information" but it makes it much more likely that someone's pb will not get tweeted out by accident. Because of these things, this could take anywhere from a day or two, to a week. When dealing with something like this, you want to make sure every thing is covered before making a final decision.

2. Coming to a conclusion on if a timer will be mandatory for runs of KH1: This is something the community has been wanting for quite some time. Personally I am against it, but have already had discussions with others on the matter. Coming to a conclusion on this shouldnt take too much time. So be on the look out for a decision on this soon.

3. Cleaning up the guides page: There are many different outdated notes on the LBs for KH1. I want to clean them up. Get updated notes, clear out the outdated ones. To note, when I do this, I will make a forum post that has every previous outdated guide as a way of archiving the notes in case anyone may need or want them in the future. There are a couple ways the clean up can be done, so this might take a couple weeks. Just depends on how soon we can decide on what we want to do.

4. Get into the workings of a yearly KH marathon that is organized by the LB mods: One thing this community has been lacking for a very long time is a community feeling and a community event. This has been caused by many different things, mostly because the shear amount of people in the KH community, and the many disagreements that we have. There have been plenty of KH marathons to take place in the past couple of years, notably those organized by Kasa and the people over at Experience the Magic, but we haven't had one put on that felt like it was by the entire community in a long time. So I am hoping that, with the help of the other mods, we can start putting together an amazing yearly showing of Kingdom Hearts Speedrunning. This is something that is very long term goal. My initial thought was it would be really awesome to have the marathon on the anniversary of Kingdom Hearts, which is March 28th. If we go with this, we will have almost a full year of planning. So hopefully we can get something going soon. We will definitely need help from the entire community with this, so keep a look out for when we come calling for things like layout designers, restreamers, etc.
