Dear (Democrat politician),

My name is (name) and I am a registered (Democrat) voter. I am passionate about politics, particularly left leaning policies to help bring about change and progress with this country. I was hopeful when I saw Vice President Kamala Harris choose Governor Tim Walz for her VP. The progress he's made in Minnesota cannot be understated. However, given how Vice President Kamala Harris ran her campaign on more moderate and right wing policies, trying to cater to Republicans in order to earn their vote, and seeing the results of how Republicans voted, I believe that strategy was a mistake.

As someone who wants abortion access, universal healthcare, more funding for the EPA, FDA, and education, along with a higher federal minimum wage, I implore the Democrat party to learn from Governor Tim Walz's successes in his state, and enact more left leaning policies that are overall largely popular across the board. We have seen that when voters get their chance to preserve protections like abortion, raising minimum wage, funding school lunches, the result is overwhelmingly in favor.

I do not believe that it is in the best interest for this country or this party to continue down the path of catering or placating Republicans, and instead, we should focus our time and energy on progressive policies. I ask that you and other Democrats fight for our freedoms and rights and move left.
