  68. * Maddox looks back at the shops
  69. <Maddox> "and these shops feel like those ones in stories that sell you cursed stuff and then are gone the next day."

  2173. * Carmen_Chapman looX around for signatures in the open room, following
  2174. <Maddox> are all flashlights now off?
  2175. <ProcyonA> There are some on the outsides, running at you
  2176. <ProcyonA> unless you guys have yours on
  2177. <Maddox> I think mine is on, but that's it.
  2178. <Carmen_Chapman> Carmen doesn't need one so she hasn't had one
  2179. <Maddox> and it's a cell phone flash LED
  2180. * Maddox joins them in the center of the room, then turns his light off.
  2181. <ProcyonA> The room is big, they havent gotten to the center yet.
  2182. <ProcyonA> From behind you, you hear shelves crashing
  2183. * Maddox says to Carmen, under his breath, let me know when they get close."
  2184. <ProcyonA> dozens of basilisks are slithering at you from entrances all around the circular room.

  2187. <ProcyonA> there are several clicks as the bears turn off their night vision and theres a massive flash

  2207. * Carmen_Chapman ignites a lightworX, turns back, and chuX it at the approaching basilisks, before turning back and continuing to run

  2209. <Carmen_Chapman> Oh, did they turn them back on?

  2220. <ProcyonA> It is tied to the ground with a rope, and carmen sees the bears beckon you on

  2226. <ProcyonA> One of the bear yells "CUT THE ROPE!" but it is drowned out by a crash
  2227. <ProcyonA> two massive underlings have smashed through the wall you came from
  2228. * Maddox , still entirely blind, scrambles onto the platform.
  2229. <ProcyonA> They look like huge, flying spiders, and theyre flying right at you

  2231. * Carmen_Chapman is amazed, now that she can see their signatures more clearly

  2235. * Carmen_Chapman pulls out an aXe and cuts the rope

  2238. <ProcyonA> high above you a counterweight falls, but not fast enough
  2239. <ProcyonA> As the bugs approach, on of the bears yells "FLASH EM"
  2240. * Carmen_Chapman pulls out another lightworX, chucking it in the direXon the flying signatures are coming from

  2242. * Maddox shakes in fear a bit, not able to see anything that's going on and feeling the panic.

  2244. <ProcyonA> The bugs are illuminated, and are quite large and grotesque
  2245. <ProcyonA> they clearly hate the light, and are slowed by it
  2246. <ProcyonA> At this rate, though, they'll arrive before you reach the top of the dome, at the top of which you see a hole up into the darkness

  2327. * Maddox 's telekientic instance returns the off axesaber to his hand
  2328. * Carmen_Chapman pulls out the lightworX at the ready
  2329. * Carmen_Chapman looX to the bears and the leader for confirmation
  2330. <ProcyonA> They are looking at you in anticipation
  2331. * Carmen_Chapman nods, chucking her last LightworX at the approaching flying spider bug monster
  2332. <Carmen_Chapman> "OFF!"
  2333. <ProcyonA> It hits it, and all the fish oil ignites
  2334. <ProcyonA> The flame lights up the room along with the flash grenade, and the bug screams and loses height
  2335. <ProcyonA> It drops to the floor by its friend and rolls to extinguish the flames, and the last thing you see as you escape into the darkness of the tube are dozens and dozens of mosnters surrounding the flaming body of the bug
  2336. <ProcyonA> The night vision goggles tick on
  2337. * Carmen_Chapman readies her chainsaw for wherever they might be going up to
  2338. <ProcyonA> The leader says "we need to update escape systems four and twelve. They won't work against flying enemies"
  2339. <ProcyonA> The platform grinds to a halt, the tube in which it was traveling widens a bit and you find yourselves in a dry, empty sewer
  2340. * Maddox looks around, glad there are flashlights again.
  2341. * Carmen_Chapman cheX the vicinity for signatures
  2342. <ProcyonA> Nothing.
  2343. <ProcyonA> The bears trudge to a ladder nearby and climb up it.
  2344. <Maddox> "Did you get what you needed?"
  2345. <ProcyonA> "Yes." the leader snaps
  2346. <ProcyonA> He climbs up the ladder and out a manhole.
  2347. <ProcyonA> THe bears follow.
  2348. * Maddox frowns at the snap, though lets it go. Everyone's stressed, after all
  2349. <ProcyonA> One of the final ones to climb stops at the bottom.
  2350. * Maddox follows up the ladder
  2351. * Carmen_Chapman also follows
  2352. <ProcyonA> "Sorry about our boss. He's headstrong. Brilliant but headstrong. He doesn't like things to change if he can't control it

  2360. <ProcyonA> He climbs the ladder and enters into the sunlight
  2361. * Carmen_Chapman gives a single snort/huff of laughter/frustration, and follows
  2362. * Maddox continues frowning, and follows
