The population of Toxspace at the beginning of the referendum, including both active and inactive users, was:

RESIDENCE.
In this report, the definition of the term "residence" is as follows. The forms of that word have a corresponding meaning.

A "resident" of an edition of Toxspace is any user of that edition who:
Joined that edition before they joined any other edition, and has since remained there until the beginning of the referendum;
Holds a position of authority, such as administrator or moderator, on that edition.
If the two criteria conflict, the latter criterion takes precedence in determining residence.
ELIGIBILITY.
All users who were present in Toxspace at the beginning of the referendum, without restriction of age, migrant status, or activity, were eligible to vote.
RESULTS.
The referendum was called, and voting began, at midnight EDT (UTC-4) on May 10, 2020. Voting ended the same time the next day, midnight EDT on May 11, 2020.

TURNOUT.
Though the official report of results is based on table 2, turnout should be calculated by dividing the number of voters by the total population. As the total population, as expressed in table 1, is based on residence, turnout should be calculated based on Table no. 3, not no. 2. It is:

ANALYSIS AND CONCLUSIONS.
Looking at just the results, a clear mandate against de-Discordization is apparent. Opponents to it outnumber proponents whatever measure is used.

When turnout is examined, the mandate becomes less obvious. Neither side achieved a majority in any edition. The possible reasons for low turnout are lack of advertising of the referendum and low awareness. It is tempting to discard the unfavorable result because turnout did not reach a majority. That ignores the fact that supporters of de-Discordization had the burden of proof, one they failed to meet.

The large vote against in the Discord edition is presumably caused by unwillingness among the userbase to migrate somewhere else, insufficient campaigning in favor, and lack of access to arguments for de-Discordization. Future referenda should provide an opportunity for supporters of each option to debate and present their viewpoints.

The low turnout in the Matrix edition springs, we are sure, not from any want of civic duty among its citizens, but from the fact that it was insufficiently advertised. In addition, while the referendum was mentioned in the topic of the IRC edition, it was not entirely clear what it was on.
