- [20:16:22] Once they arrived at the clearing, the scholar looked around and nodded to himself in confirmation."Yes, this’ll do. Quite nicely, I’d argue."Adrian pivots, turning around to face the warrior who stood two or three heads taller than him. He offered him a brief glance and then placed some distance between them. "I remember you telling me something during our conversation on the second floor, after Zahrir had nearly drawn his blade on me.""You said you’d help me get stronger." The scholar removed the grimoire the latches on his belt that connected it to his lower back. It floated in front of him. Evan was able to see something with that new eye of his. A massive amount of magical energy churned inside of the Champion. Had he been suppressing it this whole time?A large runic circle appeared beneath his feet, as volts of lightning shot upwards into the sky like pillars of electricity. Wind began to gather around him, encapsulating his person. Water carried by the wind and lightning mixed into a maelstrom, something akin to a small hurricane encircling the scholar."I’m taking you up on that offer. Do not hold back, Evan."

- [20:24:54] " ... " Evan was surprised. He had never seen Adrian like this before. In a state of power. It was something he was definitely not familar with and to see him like this was indeed reassuring. The question however was whether or not this was all just a show. Was it a bluff or was it a true show of power? He would then take ahold of his blade as he scanned Adrian. A massive amount of mana encircled the man. It wasn't anything like Dekel's despite the two showing a similar display of magic. It truly impressed him but enough of the admiration. It was time for Adrian to experience a true battle and for him to truly gauge his strength as well. He took ahold of his blade, pointing it forward " I never hold back. " he calmly states as he takes his stance. As he did, mana would begin to be released from his body and began to bind to him. Dirt, rocks and even small deposits of ore began to began molding itself unto his body encasing himself in a rock hard shell. The mana condesing and increasing the durabilty of the shell and changing the components of the earth entirely making it almost metallic. His eyes locked on Adrian, he would take a step forward before saying. " Don't disappoint me, Champ. "

- [20:39:24] They begun and Evan would observe and wait, he noticed Adrian begining to gather mana and at that moment he would dash forward only to see him dissolve into nothing but a cloud. An illusion? He quickly glanced around to look to see if he noticed any other concentrations of mana nearby and none had the same color as Adrian's hue. It was then he realized that it was Adrian merely showing great mastery over his elements. He grinned as he then was forced to dash back and wait to see how lon he could maintain it it was then that the true battle began as Evan sent a wave of mud in his direction and dashed forward to attack once more. This time, he was now fending off many blades of winds that were being flowing around Adrian with great speed and power, Evan being forced to only parry the wind. He gritted his teeth and fend himself. Adrian's magic was indeed pontent and he proved this time and time again with each exchange of blows. His water magic was especially the most pontent, forcing him back on several occassion and the mere force behind the attacks even leaving him in a daze. Had Adrian had more experience on the battlefield, he would've been a force to reckon with but currently he was merely a powerhouse that knew not how to efficiently use his magic on the battlefield. Evan would teach him that as he slowly wittled him down with his attacks until he kicked him into a tree and took a few steps back as he waited for Adrian to push himself back up. He knew he had it himself to do more than this. " Adrian, you're a powerful magi with potent magic but if you don't know how to use it effectively you're nothing more than a cannon. Powerful but it doesn't manage to hit it's target. Useless. Don't rush. You're your mind to your advantage and ensure the battle is dictated by your. Ensure it's pace is chosen and controlled by you. Get up, you can do better. " He states as he takes a firm hold of his blade. He could feel his legs shaking slightly. After taking that stream of water in his gut, Evan was surely feeling the effects on him now. Potent was an understatement. Adrian was a powerhouse with enough training. A force to be reckoned with.

- [20:50:30] Evan was no novice, that was for sure. After having lost his eye and his arm on the field of battle, he certainly boasted a great deal of experience. Even more so than his sister. He moved with coordination and power, befitting to his area of expertise. Earth magic. A trifiling branch of the arcane arts that boasted both offensive and defensive capabilities, the latter being especially terrifying when used by an experienced magi.It was true. Adrian relied on his raw magical prowess. Evan was not wrong in his critiques. Amidst the battle, he assumed he’d be able to carry himself with his combative prowess alone. He couldn’t be more wrong. A fool he was, not to utilize his greatest asset. As he continued to exhange blows with the Storm Warden he found himself growing more and more exhausted trying to keep up with him. Every time he put some distance between them, Evan dashed right back at him. His swordsmanship was certainly impressive. The scholar’s body flung across the ground, Evan’s massive foot sending him flying into the air as he flew into a tree. He fell forwards onto a single hand, coughing up some blood. Slowly but surely, he got back to his feet.Sparks began to dance around him, almost as if Focalar himself had been instilling him with newfound vigor in order to see him succeed in his endeavor against Evan.

- [21:05:52] The two clashed once more with more vigour than ever. Adrian was a fast learner and understood what Evan was trying to say. Implimenting it however wasn't that easy. He was having a bit of difficulty there but the more the two fought was the more that he started adapting. At an alarming rate at that. Several occassions had Evan avoided a great deal of close calls which would've most definietely decided the fight but by doing this he got closer and closer to exhausting Adrian. Adapting to the function of the eye, he wouldn't allow Adrian to get the better of him. At least just enough to not lose his advantage over the magi. They continued to trade blows over and over and Adrian was close to overwhelming Evan and knocking him to the floor. He charged up a condensed ball of electricity in the palm of his hand, a force that would've easily sent Evan flying and he rushed forward. He was already exhausted as is and could barely move. Evan had only one choice and to take it head on. He buckled up and griited his teeth as he prepared himself for Adrian's attack and slammed the sword into the ground. He would take Adrian's efforts head on. He condensed all of his mana into his left fist and threw it forward. The two's opposing forces clashing for a long period and Adrian musting forth enough power to blast Evan away into the hill with a powerful stream of water. A large dust cloud would be seen as Evan made a hard crash. " ... " For a moment, Adrian would feel a brief moment of victory that was before a hand was raised out and two fingers made a sharp movement form pointing to the ground and up into the air. A small pillar of earth shooting out of the ground and slamming adrian into the gut and down unto the floor. Shortly afterwards, Evan woud fall out ouf the dust clouds coughing as he laid on the floor for a bit. " It's...very rarely am I forced to resort to such ' cheap ' methods. " He held his gut as he slowly pushed himself upwards. " Ya did good Adrian but...I think we both agree the leave the fighting with me huh? "
- (Evan)
- [21:17:48] Adrian felt his eyes roll back behind his head for a moment as the force of the pillar made contact with his torso. He flew into the air only to be slammed down into the ground again. Smoke covered the area of impact. Adrian lie on the hard ground, unmoving. It was evident that Evan was the victor. There were twitches of movement here and there. Before long, he slowly began to raise to his feet. The scholar wiped the blood from the side of his face. His glasses had slipped down his face slightly, allowing for him to set a pair of steel blue orbs onto the Storm Warden. He held his hand forwards, his grimoire quickly reacting to his call. He opened it once again, a pillar of lightning shooting into the air as he did so. Wind began to gather around his feet, collecting water as it twisted and turned violently."Again. We aren’t finished here until I’ve claimed victory."

- [21:18:40] Evan would squint at the man for a moment before forming a large grin on his face. " I like it. Let's go. "

- [21:36:35] A flip switched. Something changed. Adrian’s expression alone, that strange inquisitive glare of his spoke volumes. To those remotely familiar with him, they’d recognize it. It was one he assumed in battles of the mind, within scholarly debates and philosophical conversations. The first time around, Adrian took everything at face value. He treated the skirmish as a skirmish, and nothing more. That was his dire mistake. His fatal flaw.It was a puzzle. A book, a maze. It was something that could be solved. Adrian flashed forwards, immediately picking up the fight where it had left off. His movements were accentuated by the speed that came hand in hand with a mixture of wind and lightning, the magi dancing across the field of battle in quick bursts of energy. Evan kept up with him, exchanging blows and managing to land several critical hits on the Champion.A beautiful yet devastating display of earth clashed with the force of a miniature hurricane. Blasts of electricity, torrents of wind, streams of water and fissures cracking the very ground had effectively turned the clearing into a war zone. However, Evan would soon find out that in a battle of the forces of nature the sky reigned supreme. Evan came flying towards him, his giant blade coming to strike him down. Adrian pushed his arm forwards, expelling a squall of wind to push him out of the way before it could connect. Adrian pivoted around the warrior, and in spite of the bruises and scrapes that plagued his bottom, compiled a combination that would secure his position as the victor---at least, for now.A whirlwind gathered around Evan, pushing him high into the air as streams of water were shot into the developing cyclone. A storm cloud gathered above him, a pillar of lightning shooting down through the center.

- [21:51:56] Evan would begin fighting far more aggresively than before. Swing with great force that created gusts of winds with each swing of his blade. Adrian was serious and he was going to return such efforts with his might. The two continued to clash be it with Adrian fending off his blade with his magic or Evan blocking the man's magic with his blade or a wall of earth. The two continued to trade blows repetitively and Evan wasn't wasting no time this time around. He was pushing himself, losing himself as his adrenaline was pumping and his senses heightening. His mechanical eye quickly scanning the field as Adrian formed into a cloud once more but he had already seen through that once. It won't work again. The moment Adrian was no longer able to sustain the form, Evan propelled himself with great force and with the handle of his blade he jabbed it into Adrian's gut before stabbing the sword down into the ground, swinging by the handle and Kicking Adrian into the hillside behind him. The moment he did that he would groan slightly as he drew his blade out of the ground and waited for a moment. He would give Adrian only a brief moment to recover before dashing back into battle and engaging in combat once more. " Try to keep up huh Adrian? This ain't study time. This is a battlefield, ain't no time for learning here?! " He taunted once more as he become further immersed in the fight.

- [22:04:44] Evan, Avenger of the Bulwark and sworn protector of the Champion of Focalar. The Storm Warden.Evan’s ability to sustain himself in close-quarters-combat was quite fearsome. As heavy as the blade was, he was able to swing it around as if a normal longsword. The warrior had held his own the second time around, emerging successful as he finished off Adrian with a jab to the gut from the pommel and a kick to send him flying. The scholar skidded across the ground, flying across the field as if a rag doll. He slammed his fist onto the ground and prodded himself back up again. The battle had been lost, but the fight was not yet over.Adrian stood, ready to face the challenge that Evan’s presence imposed upon him. Their exchanging of blows continued, the majority of the fight yielding no results as both of them continued to land devastating blows on one another. Until Evan had slipped up, losing himself in his the aggressive maneuvers induced by his rush of adrenaline. This provided Adrian with an opportunity---one he’d not waste. The scholar finished the skirmish by pulling utilizing a vacuum of wind to pull him into a powerful stream of water charged by lightning. His eyes widened, the scholar yet to realize the full extent of his power. After all of the smoke had cleared he made his way over to Evan, only to realize that he too was exhausted. He fell onto the ground, holding himself up with his hands and knees. He was breathing rather heavily. Adrian extended a hand to Evan.
