  1. Hi, we are FRIENDBOW (they/them) and SUNSHINE (he/him), and we are attempting ROUND 2 of a sleeplocke challenge! This was a challenge that we attempted back in the summer of 2019, but unfortunately we weren't able to finish because Sunshine's software failed and left him stuck at Nimbasa City. Now we are back for REVENGE, and are determined to win this time! Our rules are as follows...
  2.
  3. FRIENDBOW AND SUNSHINE'S SLEEPLOCKE RULES:
  4.
  5. 1. Only the first Pokemon encountered or obtained in any given area can be caught.
  6.
  7. - Duplicate Clause: If the first encounter in an area is a Pokemon that has previously been caught, additional attempts may be made to encounter something new. The first one of these attempts that yields a Pokemon that hasn't been previously caught is considered to be the first encounter. If 5 encounters have passed and all of them have been duplicates, the catch for the area is forfeit.
  8.
  9. - Entire evolutionary lines are considered for duplicate clause rather than individual Pokemon. (ex. If the player has previously caught a Caterpie but not a Metapod, and a Metapod is encountered, it is still considered a duplicate because it is part of the same evolutionary line.)
  10.
  11. - Shiny Clause: If a shiny Pokemon is encountered and it is NOT the first encounter, it may be caught, but not used.
  12.
  13. - Legendary Clause: Legendary Pokemon cannot be caught. If a Legendary Pokemon is the first encounter in a given area, then it does not count and the player may try for another encounter.
  14.
  15. - Pinwheel Clause: The interior and exterior of Pinwheel Forest count as two separate areas.
  16.
  17. - Fossil Pokemon and eggs are counted as encounters for the place where they are restored/hatched, not where they are obtained.
  18.
  19. - Every Pokemon must be nicknamed.
  20.
  21. 2. If a Pokemon faints in battle, it is considered dead. It must be released or permanently boxed.
  22.
  23. - Blackout Rule: If all six Pokemon faint in a single battle, the challenge is over.
  24.
  25. 3. If either of the players falls asleep, we lose the challenge.
  26.
  27. 4. The use of an emulator's speed-up function is not allowed.
  28.
  29. - Built-in measures that speed up gameplay such as setting the text speed to fast and turning off battle animations are allowed.
  30.
  31. 5. The challenge begins after the player obtains Poke Balls. The rules do not apply until then.
