  1. //Walking silently down the road, her hands stuffed into her petticoat, her hood up and her head down, she focused on the heartbeat pounding in her ears. It wasn't hers. It excited her however. It had been a significant amount of time since the last time she had released the more primal urges inside. The heartbeat had begun roaring, forcing her to pay attention to the empty road around her, the sound drowning out her senses. She was almost defenseless with how it refused to calm and settle. Why? She raised her eyes and paused her gait. Ah. She spotted a jogger coming towards her headphones in and perspiring. He's been at it for awhile. She stopped walking, waiting for him to pass. Focusing on the pattern of his legs raising, falling, his feet hitting the ground, it was only a second before he passed her that he had given her a soft smile in greeting. She flashed a pointed smirk in response, and as he was about to be completely beyond her, she reached her foot in a quick gesture, hitting against his ankle in a clipping motion. In a blur he was on the ground, headphones out and she heard a hiss of pain. She turned herself around in a military round-about, one heel behind the other and quickly rotating. The male smiled up at her. It was a shame humans lacked the senses she had. Her kind were too empathetic for their own good. But in instances where a prey was near, it was useful. Being able to sense malevolence is a good thing. Having the chance to run before an encounter is better. She knealed, smiling at him, offering her hand without speaking, nodding in silent apology. When she did speak, she poured as much human emotion into it she could muster. "For someone who seems seasoned at running you'd think you wouldn't fall like this." She laughed breathily, wiggling her fingers slightly, encouraging the male to grab them. He put his hand behind his head, an exasperated look covering his features as he itched the back of his head. "I only just moved here. My wife likes the mountains." His hand unwrapped from his head and reached out. Mistake. She almost felt bad for how easy she had gotten this one. Boring. Her hand immediately held onto his, yanking him up to her but not to standing, more so onto his knees as she herself moved forward with the inertia, her lips against his ears, her fingers crushing his painfully in her grasp. She could hear the knuckles crack, his gasp of pain. The heartbeat roared again. It was intoxicating. Her tongue ran along the crack of her lips in a most cliché way. Vampire, right? that's what we did in human movies right? "Humans are cursed.. " Her breathy sigh seemed to come from all directions, her voice echoing around them eerily. That part was supposed to calm the victim. lulling them into security no matter what words are said. She could've easily said "too bad for your wife. She's next" and he would've happily agreed. Gross. Humans are stupid. "I-I.. don't want to die..." She froze. Her eyebrows creased. he was aware? Now it's fun. Her free hand raised to his neck, wrapping around his throat. Her pointer fingers long nail resting above his jugular vein. For a moment she felt bad again. Being one arth for too long has tainted her. "Sorry." She spoke. The voice floating in the air above his head. He looked up. That was his final mistake. His arching of his neck had given her the advantage. Her nail quickly pierced through his skin, his blood spraying over her features and his own, onto the pavement. Everywhere. Messy and glorious. She leaned back with her hand still around his neck, but she released his hand. He was already dead. She had blown it. This could've been more fun. Oh well.. //
