Romulus Backstory

Romulus Iathetus is a relatively young member of the Adeptus Mechanicus, born and raised upon Lathe-Hesh for the express purpose of serving the Omnissiah as one of his adepts. His earliest memories are of working the production lines of his homeworld's massive weapon manufactorums, adding the final ornamentation and delicate scrimshawing to those holiest of armaments. In his twenties, Romulus became keenly aware of how weak his biological components were as he struggled to work with the same precision of his more augmented brethren. This weakness drove him to advance in the ranks in order to obtain augmentics. It was while walking this path that he met a Scion of the Iron Sphere, the picture of Mechanical Superiority, one who had replaced all but their most essential biological components with superior augmentics.

From that day on, Romulus subscribed to the ideals of the Iron Sphere. Humanity was weak, an evolutionary dead end, and only the Mechanicus had overcome that biological failure. He's toiled for decades now, try to earn a rank appropriate to become a Scion himself, or perhaps join the Crimson Guard in order to better serve the Omnissiah. At last, the day came that he was named a Mech-Wright and tasked to travel to Scintilla in a pilgrimage to the walking machine city of Ambulon and learn what he could of the archeotech that makes the ancient machine work.

So it was that Romulus has acquired what weapons and armor he could to ensure his safety in his long travels, acquiring a Minerva Aegis for a reasonable price from one of the other members of the Iron Sphere and armoring his form in Flak Armor like that which is supplied to the Astra Militarum. Guided by his cold logic and mortal ambition, Romulus begins his quest.
