He doesn't particularly emphasize much in his speech and as a result usually resorts to sounding dull and boring. Depending on his mood which is often either normal or focused, his tone may change. During times when he is being serious or is zeroed in a situation, his voice typically has more emphasis and authority to it compared to his rather droll tone. There are rare cases where his voice is starkly different than it typically is, and only a small handful have ever really heard that aspect belonging to his other persona. During 'episodes' in which Deckar's secondary persona emerges, his voice becomes much more energetic and lively in a sense, tinged with tones that one may imagine a psychopath to have. He also seems to speak in a much more loopy or crazed manner during these episodes.[/size]

[size=8pt]Benjamin Deckar is typically seen as a calm and collected figure for the most part. He hardly shows any emotion a majority of the time and is often described as cold and distant. However in previous records, Deckar has been diagnosed with a Dissociative Identity Disorder or more commonly known as a Multiple Personality Disorder to most people. Though it is an infrequent occurrence within Deckar, therapists and doctors have linked the emergence of Deckar's other persona being brought on during periods of extreme combat stress inducing situations. During this period or episode, several observers of Deckar on the field have noted that he has an almost insane and suicidal persona, often casting aside any reason or logic and throwing himself into a blood driven frenzy. He has been described as a bloodthirsty psychopath during these events with little discernation between friend or foe, and despite the odds managed to survive each encounter. When the nature of this disorder was brought up post operation by doctors, Deckar claims to have no memory whatsoever of what occurred during these 'episodes'. There doesn't seem to be any past connection as to why Deckar has this split persona under certain circumstances. One rather key bit of information regarding Deckar's split personas is that comrades have noted that on more than one occasion that Deckar nearly turned on them only to be thrown into an almost panicked state of self head bashing before tearing himself away from his unit, perhaps indicative of minor control on the sane half of Deckar over his crazed half.[/size]

[size=8pt]Benjamin Deckar was born at Touchdown Point, Eden on November 11, 2040, his parents being Jonathan and Marissa Deckar. For the most part, Benjamin lived a rather normal life within the confines of the colony. Deckar ran through his childhood with little complication, meeting Bella Novix at the age of twelve whom he would later marry fourteen years later. At the age of twenty, Benjamin joined the local law enforcement force for a year or so before joining the Colonial Security Force. He would serve as a dutiful and respectable member of the Force for several years following. His mother died of cancer during his time in the Colonial Security Force, and his father soon after due to grief and an alcohol induced downward spiral which ultimately led to his suicide. Deckar would soon take some time off to marry Bella Novix, his childhood sweetheart and a year later gave birth to their daughter Nova while Deckar was away serving within the CSF. During this time away, Deckar would be revealed to have Dissociative Identity Disorder. He was discharged from the CSF temporarily on medical leave, and used the time to spend with his wife and baby daughter. Benjamin loved both of them with every fiber of his being and did the best he could to be a good father. Time would go by as Benjamin attempted to rejoin the CSF from his medical leave, only to be denied under the premise that he was simply too mentally unstable to be performing on the field and was officially discharged. Though it pained Deckar to not be able to serve and protect as he did for a decade, he was more than happy to spend time with his wife and child. All was happy until his wife died in a vehicular accident. Her death hit Deckar hard as he struggled to go day to day, and would have likely suffered the same fate as his father had it not been for his daughter to keep his head above his own despair. Deckar would seek out whatever work he could, often picking up oddjobs here and there to help support and keep his daughter well funded so she never was hungry or cold. However Deckar didn’t seem to be able to scrap together the finances he needed in order to maintain a stable home environment for him and his daughter. Eventually Deckar would stumble across the Crimson Corsairs. His prior military experience within the CSF would help get him into the private security company as he found himself a stable enough flow of finances to support his daughter, albeit he had to hire a nanny to take care of his daughter while he was away. Deckar sees his daughter on a rare basis, but sends a majority of his earnings to a private account that his daughter has access to, only keeping a bare minimum for himself. Deckar has currently been working for the Crimson Corsairs for roughly five or so years now and has been nicknamed as the Two-Faced Merc due to his dual personas. [/size]
