how 2 play don't starve:
- most of the game is about preparing for the bad seasons (summer and winter)
- that takes ~12 ingame days, so it's probably easier to learn by just playing up until that point a few times.
- that means you should really just focus on setting up a base and exploring the tech tree
- science machine and alchemy machine are the two tech tree items
- the most reliable way to get food is probably berry bushes
- they regrow naturally when you find them in the wild
- however you can dig them up and replant them, but then you'll have to fertilize them every few days for them to grow more berries
- tbh you're going to need to read the wiki a lot to figure stuff out probably - that's what I had to do anyways
- also there's a way to fight monsters so that you never take damage if you do it right, but it's pretty hard to do online.
- in general u want to avoid taking damage though - build helmet when u can
